My 4 year old we conceived within 3 months. We're now 6 months in TTC #2.. tried OPK's, fertility lube, trying, not trying!, pre conception tablets. But no joy. I'm wondering if it because I'm older now (was 27, now 32)
Anyone else had this?

Hi I am in a similar situation i have a 4 year old little girl and have been trying for 3 years currently for my second I did want my children close together but this has turned out very different with unsuccess for the last 3 year I have only now this month tried ovulation test due to my irregular periods between 21-42 day cycles so I am hoping this is my month 🤞 1 dpo so long way until I find out but staying positive and just need others to talk to during my wait

Same boat here. DC1 is 2.5, been trying for DC2 since April of last year, two early miscarriages later and still no luck for us. I'm 30, DP just turned 34. I'm around 11dpo today and just praying AF doesn't arrive in a few days, but I have my doubts!

Oh and we conceived DC1 in the first month - so very different experience this time around.

@tuesday2am 11dpo and you haven't tested? I would be itching 😅 🤞for you , with my first it took 2 years to concieve so I know I just take longer to get pregnant but 3 years so far is a drag I just want to see those 2 lines 🤞

Hello, yes, I’ve just found out I’m expecting baby no 2 and it was 8 months of trying (still early days in this pregnancy, will see how it goes), however we conceived DS in the first month we tried. It was a bit of a surprise to me when it took that much longer. I was 28 with my 1st and am now 32, so similar gap to you- fertility does decline with age slightly, even from your twenties to thirties so it might be a factor in both our cases? Up to a year of trying is considered typical, as agonising as it is at times, I’m sure it will happen for you soon. Are you testing twice a day (or more) with OPKs? I don’t know if this helps to mention it but my LH peak lasted longer than I realised, which I didn’t realise earlier cos I wasn’t testing enough times throughout the day.

Thank you so much everyone for your responses. It makes me feel better to realise at least I'm not alone and it might even be more common than I thought. I find it's harder this time round as no one was expecting us to have a baby so we didn't have the pressure, now MIL - even though good will is intended - keeps talking about when we have another and I just want to say we're trying it just isn't happening! x

@J2021 I really am itching to test but I just can’t take the disappointment yet, so going to hold off until after the date AF is due and see what happens. And thank you 💕 keeping my fingers crossed you get those two lines very soon as well!

That's very similar, almost spooky! When are you due this month? I'm due on around the 26th but my boobs are hurting already so feel I'm out yet again this month Sad

@angelwings87 due 21st/22nd (I tend to have 31/32 day cycles) but have cramping so think I may be out 😢

tuesday2am · 18/01/2021 11:46

I couldn’t wait any longer... I’ve asked DP to pick up a First Response at the shops. AF due tomorrow. Anytime I go for a pee, I feel like I’m studying it for any sign of it arriving... lol. Nothing yet so figured I’d just bite the bullet so I know for sure.

I’m not really one to symptom spot, not closely. But for the past 5 days now I’ve been so ridiculously fatigued and have had a near constant headache that’s gotten worse every time I go to bed. Just wondering if it’s because I am indeed pregnant, but honestly could be AF coming or could just be something else entirely. It’s just very different for me so it’s got me wondering.

I am a bag of nerves just now lol.

WaitingForEgg · 18/01/2021 14:08

@tuesday2am eep! Tell us how it goes

tuesday2am · 18/01/2021 14:48

BFN, unfortunately. 😢
Roll on month 11...

WaitingForEgg · 18/01/2021 15:49

@tuesday2am I’m so sorry, life is so bloody unfair.
