When to do a FRER?

I have irregular cycle lengths and have been tracking them over the last 4 months. No matter what the cycle length is, ovulation has always occurred right in the middle. So in September cycle length was 24 days, peak clear blue said OV at 12 days. October, cycle was 29 days, OV was apparently day 14-15. You get the drift.

So this month is first month TTC and the clear blue app to figure out when to start testing for OV automatically used my shortest cycle which was 24 days and has put my predicted period to start on 21 Jan.

However, according to the monitor I ovulated on day 11. If this cycle is anything like the others i am therefore predicting that i will start AF at day 22 or 23 which would be Monday 18 Jan.

So my question, as I'm very impatient and the TWW is killing me...do I take a FRER this weekend? I'm currently 7dpo so by Monday I'll be 11dpo.

Hi,
This cycle I ovulated cd14, with af due on Sunday 17th.
I got a bfp on a cheapie on 8dpo, then confirmed it with a frer on 9dpo and with a clear blue digital on 10dpo. Currently now 11dpo and will be doing another frer today to look for line progression.

Good luck!

I would... I have used at 11DPO twice and had positive so I think I may have had a squinter even earlier if I had tested.

They are definitely the most sensitive and most likely to pick up BFP first - good luck! xx

Thanks! Did either of you have any symptoms before you did your early tests? I don't think I've had any pregnancy symptoms at all. Just feeling a bit run down and tired like I have a cold but not boob tenderness or anything. This is TTC first so I don't know what symptoms, if any, to look out for this early!

I didn't feel much different than usual to be honest, first pregnancy I had tiny implantation bleed at 7dpo (never bleed between periods so I knew something was going on..) then second I just had a massive wave of nausea at 9dpo when cooking.

Had usual post ov/pre AF cramping on and off and did have sore boobs but I always get sore boobs, so these symptoms were no different to non pregnant months.

Just looked back on my app... at 7dpo I put ''vivid dreams but trying not to symptom spot'' and 8dpo I put ''nothing really''. Other pregnancy at 8dpo I put ''apart from extremely painful boobs, I feel fine - no cramps etc.''

Hope that helps! xx

10-11 dpo usually gives a good line on a FRER if pregnant!

Girlfolk · 14/01/2021 16:16

I got a BFP at 10dpo on FRER quite a strong line. I didnt have any symptoms so didnt think it would be positive as in my first pregnancy I had sore boobs around 8dpo.

@TTCnum1 I didn’t really have many symptoms tbh. Boobs maybe felt ever so slightly tender if I squeezed them, but that’s usual for me in the run up to af.

Have attached a pic of my 9dpo and today’s 11dpo frer.

Thanks for sharing your symptoms and test photos with me! I've ordered some FRERs on amazon prime! Do you find you get better results using FMU? So should I wait until Saturday morning?
I've had tender boobs but only if I prod them a bit like you say @Moominmiss it sort of feels like they have bruises on and its the feeling you get when you touch a bruise if that makes sense? But I've had that since about 4dpo and I wondered if maybe my sports bra isn't supportive enough and my new years running mission has caused it haha

@Girlfolk this might be a weird question but how would you describe the boob pain? Mine have felt like they're bruised with the left being slightly worse and only on the inside bit but not the outside closest to armpit. So I sort of wonder if I'm imaging it! It's the feeling you get when you touch a bruise is how I'd describe it!

@TTCnum1 I would kinda say hurts to flatten them? I suppose kinda like squishing a bruise!

Amz6219 · 14/01/2021 17:23

I'd do FRER as soon as they arrive :) xx

Moominmiss · 14/01/2021 17:33

@TTCnum1 both the frers in that pic were taken in the afternoon when I got home from work. I’ve always found my pm tests to be way better than tests I do with fmu.

I’d say they sort of hurt if I flatten them, and yes I suppose it could be described like you’re pressing on a bruise!

Good luck for Saturday!!!
