First month of charting my bbt and this morning 4dpo I had a significant dip, is this normal?
There's not much chance of me being pg this month as we only dtd 5 days before ov but I'm just curious about this bbt charting and what it all means.
Thanks Smile

4DPO is still too early for any pregnancy-related dip. This is more likely to be due to a short estrogen surge, which is common, and your temp will go back up tomorrow. Best of luck!

Thank you @eloiseislost 😊

I would say it's a bit on the early side for a secondary oestrogen surge - they're usually 6-8 DPO ish.

Having said that, dips aren't uncommon and nothing to worry about.

Spontaneously I'd wonder if you perhaps slept with your mouth open? That will cause a dip. I do sometimes as I sleep with a mouthguard in :)

Thank you @Juno231 possible could be that I sleep with my mouth open, plus I think I'm a bit of a fidgety sleeper ha ha

It's shot back up this morning so I'm putting it down to an estrogen surge :-)
