Hi ladies
I have been taking inositol for a month while I was waiting for fertility clinic to get back. They have now come back and prescribed metaformin. Has anyone taken both at same time? Or should I stop inositol?

@Iloveoreos currently taking both together and have been told it's fine. No idea with the twisted ovary thing though, I wouldn't have thought so.

I also take metformin and it has really shortened my cycle from 45 to 31 days so I'm chuffed. I was taking inositol previously but I forgot to buy a new batch when it finished so I stopped all together.
I'm not sure what a twisted ovary of though.

@Iloveoreos doing pretty crap to be honest 😂 so fed up with all this business. How are you doing? I was put on the metformin recently so still on my first cycle with it but the cycles after my miscarriage that I took inositol during, my ovulation day was around CD19-22 whereas after I stopped it they went back to CD28-32 so I started back on it. Hoping to see some improvement soon! Forewarning, the metformin isn't pleasant haha

@stabal
Yes heard metaformin can cause issues. Have u had any ?

So basically a twisted ovary can happen if there is a cyst on ovary or if when you ovulate, a very rare chance the ovulation can cause ovary to twist with weight
The worst pain ever..probably one step behind from labour pain. Its a medical emergency and only surgery can fix ir

@Iloveoreos the first week dosage I was fine with, no problems. I thought I was going to get away lightly. Then the second week dosage started and I had stomach cramps, nausea and running to the toilet urgently. It's still not really calmed down but it can take up to 8 weeks to settle so I'll stick with it! I take a buscopan with my evening dosage to lessen the effects.

Iloveoreos · 13/01/2021 09:15

@stabal
Was that when you started the 2 tablets dose?

OP posts:
Stabal · 13/01/2021 09:21

@Iloveoreos yeah. I'm on the 3 now and it's not any worse but not any better. The buscopan does help though, the cramps aren't quite so bad

Iloveoreos · 13/01/2021 09:29

@stabal
Hope it goes well hun. Im still on day 3 so only 1 dose so far. How do u take the 3 dose . One with every meal or all 3 with dinner/lunch?
