Hi there,
Going into cycle 5 of TTC baby no. 1 and starting to begin worrying (even though I know it's nothing compared to some of you lovely ladies) as far as I am aware there is nothing wrong with either of us, I am slightly overweight but not drastically; regular cycles etc etc. We are DTD at the right time (I'm using the cb digital OPKs with the flashing and static smiles) have tried using conceive plus lube and a fertilily and taking pregnancy pre conception supplements. So I just wanted some positivity and some idea of how long any of you took to conceive baby no1. I've sort of got myself in a it hasn't happened within 3 months so there must be something wrong mindset.
Thank you!!

It took 6 cycles to conceive my ectopic, then 5 cycles for the one I’m currently cooking.

It’s so hard and it really does feel like forever, though I think it’s perfectly normal to conceive within a year and there’s only something like 20% chance of catching each cycle, so the odds are quite against us really!

Best of luck ☺️

It helps knowing your age, as it very much depends on that too! I like to refer to this chart based on fertility friend data :)

Hi. It took us 5 cycles with DD1. I was taking maca powder to regulate my hormones and started acupuncture from the 4th cycle. I was late 30s so did everything I could think of to help things along!

13 cycles and still going ...

Superstardjs · 12/01/2021 19:11
  1. I wouldn't worry too much after 5.

Hi I’m on cycle 4 trying for our 1st. I totally understand what Roy mean, I have it 3 cycles too and now my convinced myself it won’t happen 🙈 I did come off the pill though so I do know things may take a little longer. 😌 xx

Ahh yes that might have helped! We are both 30. That graph is really useful!

@Happythoughts91 I'm glad someone else gets it! I want to tell myself to get a grip as you see plenty of women take 1 year + but the months seem sooooo long

Hi @hels301990 I’m just about to turn 30 and my partner is 28. I’ve been off the pill for 5 cycles but actively trying (OPKs, temping) for 3. Supposed to ovulate tomorrow which will be our 4th cycle. I know that’s nothing in terms of TTC but keep reading about people who fell their first or second go and it already feels like forever!
I have a feeling we’ll be in it for the long haul though so have prepared myself for disappointment.

2 cycles ending in Mc and then a further 4 I think to conceive dd, i was 35 when I conceived x

Pipandmum · 12/01/2021 22:37

I think you are trying too hard. Just relax and not see it as a mission to get pregnant. Be aware of your most fertile time but really why not just try having sex every other day for a few months without tracking or temperature taking or what have you? It took me four months both times in my 40s, but I wasn't doing anything other than having sex. If after a year no luck then ask your GP.

knockeduplockeddown · 12/01/2021 22:39

@hels301990 I got pregnant on cycle 1 but had an early miscarriage. When we started trying again I didn't get pregnant until the 10th cycle, and was convinced there was something wrong. I know it feels like torture but hang in there! Egg number 10 is currently snoring in his crib next to me. I was 32 at the time by the way x

bez91 · 13/01/2021 06:11

We are 7 months trying but I suppose only 3/4 cycles in. We've both just turned 30.
July - didn't conceive
August - conceived and MCd at 6 weeks
October - conceived and MCd at 11 weeks
January - this cycle 🤞🏼

Rightthen24 · 13/01/2021 06:35

Took us 18 months for our first, I was 33 at the time, we tried everything and once we gave up it happened 🙄 typical! I'm 37 now, TTC for our second, I got pregnant the first month we tried but sadly had a miscarriage. I'm fully expecting it to take a good year 🙈
Just enjoy being together and throw all opks out the window as I feel that makes it worse and doesn't help relaxing. Good luck

Nat4392 · 13/01/2021 07:36

Took us 14 cycles. I’m 28 and DH is 30. Try not to let it completely take over your life (easier said than done). Even with perfectly healthy couples it can take a while x
