Implant removal

Hello folks. After swearing I would only have one baby, I find myself getting very broody for one more. I'm planning on starting trying again in late summer so will need to start thinking about when to get my implant removed so I can give my body a few months to adjust back. For those who have had this done, how long did it take for your cycle to get back to normal? I know everyone is different but a rough idea would be helpful! I'm going to be 38 this year so time not exactly on my side. Thanks in advance!

Can't remember exactly how long it took for my periods to return but it took 8 months to fall pregnant after I had mine out.

I had a dc 9 months and 10 days post removal.. No bleed first.
Was a shocker!!

I am following as I too am having mine out on Thursday to start a family. I’m 31 and hoping it will be quite quick but we will see.

I'd contact your local sexual health centre/GP ASAP, there was a 3 month wait 2 years ago when I had mine out, I can only presume it will be worse now.

I had mine out on 13th May, first AF arrived 6 June and has been regular since then. Still TTC though, and I seem to now have a short luteal phase so I think they still haven't got back to 'normal'. Good luck OP!

First time took about 8 months to get pregnant after removal, no return of periods in that time. Second time I conceived within 3 weeks of having it removed, again no period just straight to a positive test!!

husbandcallsmepickle · 13/01/2021 07:58

Took me 8 months between removal and BFP but not sure when my periods returned in between

CorianderBee · 13/01/2021 08:12

Mine was normal the next month, but then it never caused my periods to go away/change in the first place tbh

larrythelizard · 13/01/2021 08:14

I had mine out in Sept and was told fertility could return pretty much straight away.

Used condoms for a bit and tracked my cycle, now on cycle 2.

Aubergina · 13/01/2021 08:17

Periods came back straight away but then it took 6 months to conceive DS

Moon12345 · 13/01/2021 08:21

My periods returned 6 weeks after removal (I had 4 implants in back to back with hardly any periods in that time) and my first two cycles were about 40 days long. I fell pregnant the following month so about 3 months after removal.

HK92 · 13/01/2021 09:27

Had mine out on 20th March 2020. Had first period 9th April and then fell pregnant end of April. 39 weeks today 😬

Aleo9977 · 13/01/2021 10:23

I had my removed beginning of October had my period 2 weeks later. Period has been regular ever since 😊

Although I don’t class October as a month of trying as my body was still regulating itself & not even sure if I did ovulate that month anyway!

Now on Cycle #3 of TTC! 💓
