How do I track ovulation when I’ve skipped a period?

Hi guys, I’m really confused right now and hope someone can help.

TTC so came off the pill in September 2020, had a withdrawal bleed a week later, then my first proper period 5 weeks later. They then seemed to settle into a regular cycle of 28-29 days.... until now!

I am currently 8 days late and have had 3 BFNs, including one this morning. I had cramping and excess CM the week before my period was due, then heavy cramping on the days my period was due, but no bleed or any sign of it coming even now.

My question is, do I need to keep waiting for a period before I can start tracking ovulation again, or should I assume that my body has just skipped ovulation this month and start again as normal (ie I would now be on day 8 of a new cycle)?

I hope this makes sense and somebody can give me some advice.
Thanks x

If you haven't ovulated yet you could still ovulate this cycle - just much later. In the post pill thread we have ladies who had 140 day cycles after the pill and ovulated in the 2 weeks just before the end.

So really I'd recommend you start bbt tracking and carry on using cheap OPKs to see if anything is happening. But I'd start tracking now until (if) AF shows and you can start afresh.
