No period, negative tests

Hi, my partner and I have been trying for a baby for a few months now and I’m so anxious I just really want it to happen. My period is always very accurate or even early however I’m now 3 days late, and 3 negative tests on clear blue. I have been feeling really off, sore boobs, headaches, bleeding gums and stomach cramps. I’m reluctant to do more tests in a few days as I feel I’m making myself sad seeing a negative and also wasting money constantly testing. Any advice?

All you can do is wait, honestly. Take another test in a few days if your period hasn't started.

It's just so frustrating🙄 I've ordered first response tests to try them.

I'm exactly the same, OP.

I'm 14dpo and should have my period today (I normally get spotting the day before too) but nothing... so I'm not super late yet but still driving myself crazy with it. I've had very mild cramps since about 8dpo but I don't know if that indicates AF coming or not! (I usually get more painful cramps).

I've been taking tests every morning but all negative so far.

When did you start trying? We started September so have only had 3/4 cycles, and even though I know most people don't conceive that quickly it's really hard not to worry that something might be wrong!

I keep trying not to get my hopes up each month but it's so hard when you desperately want it to happen.

Been trying since November so not that long but I'm so impatient. I've done 2 normal clear blue tests and negative and a digital one this morning and negative too! I started folic acid this month and even tho I'm told it doesn't affect you I'm wondering if its stopping AF!

Stress can cause periods to be late so maybe the anxiety isn't helping?

Aims1991 · 12/01/2021 16:24

@elsaesmeralda I don't feel any more stressed or anxious than normal🤣 I'm going to stop the folic acid and see what happens

It could be the folic acid, but also it's recommended when ttc. 3 days isn't a major delay although I'm sure if you're usually like clockwork it might seem like it is!
I'm sure if the folic acid has disrupted your cycle abit it would soon level itself out!

@Aims1991 Honestly I wouldn't worry about the folic acid. It's the only supplement that is recommended by doctors as the one you need when TTC - anything else is optional. It can help prevent birth defects, so definitely carry on with it. It is unlikely to be having any effects - if you are worried please talk to your GP before stopping as it is a really important supplement and it's recommended to take it before you get pregnant.

Hopefully we'll get our BFP's soon.

Still no sign of AF for me, but no positive test either! I've convinced myself I'm not pregnant though and fully expecting AF to show up soon.

(PS if you were born 1991 then we are a similar age :) )

Aims1991 · 13/01/2021 16:29

@wildraisins hey, yeah I'm 30 later this year😳
So I stopped folic acid today and I've had some spotting! Little bit heavier than spotting but doesn't seem like AF has some pain in my lower stomach and back. And I never get pains like that with AF, I normally get a painful pressure feeling so I'm unsure. I will see how I am rest of the night and then tomorrow.

Please do discuss the folic acid with your GP. It's so important to take it if you might get pregnant.

Good luck Flowers
