Terrible pains ovulation day

We're on cycle 2 of TTC number 2.
Last month everything was normal, this month it's not.
I've had the sharp pains on my right side which is normal for me around ovulation but today I've got terrible period pains across my lower abdomen. I'm currently sat with a hot water bottle to soothe it. I've never had this before.
According to my app I'm ovulating today.
Is this something to worry about?

If it continues it can be worth checking, it may just be because you're paying more attention to your cycle, where you'd normally dismiss it. I've always had awful mittelschmerz but I have endometriosis & it was because of the ovulation pain, combined with my period pain I was diagnosed very young (15) thanks to a fabulous Obstetrician who actually listened to me.

Hi OP, I never get the stabbing/popping ovulation pains that everyone describes, mine is always a very low, heavy, pulling feeling which feels really similar to period cramps. It usually lasts for a couple of hours on ovulation day. No endometriosis or PCOS (ultrasound scan confirmed womb and ovaries all look normal) so what you describe sounds totally normal to me.
