... before, during or after?

I get one sided back pains every month. It literally feels like the ovary expanding.

What are you experiences?

Im pretty sure I get ovulation pains... for me they feel like a little popping sharp but light pain about an inch or two in from my hip. This month they went of for a whole day and I was quite sore by the end!

Not sure i actually ovulated after all that though!

I feel them in the few hours/the day leading up to ovulation. Feels like a dull pressure at first and becomes sharper. I also feel what is affectionately known on MN as "javelin arse" which is like constipation with shooting pains and then one sided tenderness until I ovulate and the hours afterwards, I feel a bit hot and achy before it eases off.

I think I get it before, during and after. I have a horrible achey, heavy feeling in my pelvis that lasts for about a week in the middle of my cycle and I can even feel it in my rectum.
I’ve recently come off the pill after about 12 years and I’m seriously considering going back on it as I’m having so much discomfort and anxiety every month.

I get it about day before ovulation and it continues until around 4 DPO. It's a mix of a sharp pain and a twingy pain, I get it on either the far left or right side, depending on which ovary is ovulating.

Going against the grain, I've never noticed them at all.

thislittlebird · 10/01/2021 20:43

I didn’t notice them really until we started ttc (along with many other things). I think I get them towards the start of my fertile week, but I don’t always get them, the side varies, and the pain duration and type varies. I’m going to temp this month on to try to pinpoint when those and my ovulation migraines happen.

It felt like I got ovulation pain over 2/3 days, 2nd day being the most painful ache then a dull pain day after! So maybe the 3rd day was ovulation day?!

Ah this is all so interesting! Thank you all for your replies. So interesting that we seem to feel it on the bum 🤣 I know that one... I feel like I'm constipated and sitting down is difficult 🤔
