Newbie TTC 2021 club!

Hi girls - looking for a little crew to share the ttc journey with - we are newbies this year - decided on Jan 31st to start trying after 12 years together! but had literally just missed my ovulation day for that cycle, so even though we had some fun over NY we are properly starting next cycle around the end of the month - just have to wait to finish this cycle now, and I've never wanted a period to come so quickly haha!

So - any cycle sisters out there who will be trying with me on or around end of Jan? I'm Cd21 right now.

And feel free to share stories and ages!

I'm 34 and have been off the pill for about 2 years now - we don't really use protection just pull out lol and never had a scare so I'm a little worried we could have a bit of a long journey. Although my mum conceived me first time trying so I'm praying it's in the genetics lol!

Not sure about you but I'm already getting obsessed which seems to be pretty normal lol but it would be good to have some pals to talk to rather than my cat or my husband, who I think I could quite quickly freak out if he knew just how many mum'snet threads I've read!

Also... What are you most looking forward to being pregnant?

@Aims1991 that is our plan too 😂 but we've not done a cycle yet - so people saying it's too much is worrying me 🙈

@Hallie91 surely you can't have too much 🤣 I'd say every second day is fine. Or everyday if you can.
But hey I'm not expert coz I'm still waiting on that BFP!

@Aims1991 I'd read that it can make sperm count lower on OV days as it takes them a few days to "rebound". But I don't know 🤷‍♀️🙈

@Aims1991did you decide to do another test? Fingers crossed for you xx

Just catching up on messages now - no idea if FR is better than CB - I seem to see more people talking about CB but no idea if that means it's better or not!

I started cramping last night so pretty sure period is on it's way - oh and the massive anxiety and self-loathing has started so that's also a surefire sign lol! I just want it to be here so we can get cracking on the next cycle!

@Dixie1488 love the sexy fertile lube idea! i reckon you could pass that off as some frisky addition if you don't show your OH the tube lol! Tell him it's strawberry flavour or something lol!

How are you all feeling girls? Keeping positive? It's ok to feel low too, especially with everything going on! Sometimes I wonder if it's the best tome to get pregnant with covid and uncertainty - but i have a much stronger feeling that it's just wonderful to have something positive to focus on and to be choosing to take life leaps when everything else feels so stuck!

HOW am I only 2dpo it feels like it's been going on forever 😂 trying to distract myself. I booked two days off work for study leave, the only thing I've managed to study is my cycle 😂 I've the strangest feeling today that I can only describe as contraction, like that weird uncomfortable feeling you get with braxton hicks. Wouldn't you just love to be able to see what's going on inside you!

I’m TTC, came off the pill in November and had my first proper cycle last month so full steam ahead for this cycle! I’m on CD5 :)

@Wondergirl1111 Haha! Nothing sexy about it! He saw it on the side and said “why is there a picture of a baby on the lube, that’s weird” 🤣🤣

I’m feeling okay to be honest, AF has arrived- although super super light! I’m excited for next cycle to start properly trying.

I get what you mean, it is a weird time. I find it’s given me something to focus on though :)

@ElizabethP141 hi! I'm CD8 do we're quite close together. Will this be your first cycle too? I'm feeling impatient waiting for ovulation days so god knows what I'll be like in the TTW! 🙈

@Hallie91 yes we are!!! Kind of, I ovulated in my last cycle but it was really soon after my period so we didn’t really know it was coming until it was almost too late. I’m hoping this cycle the FP will be more normal but I’m doing OPK from tomorrow so hoping to catch it and be a bit more proactive if you know what you mean 🤣 what about you?

@ElizabethP141 I get you! I'm waiting for my sticks to arrive so I can actually tell if I'm ovulating. Postman's late with them 😫 so just DTD every other day until they arrive!

First time trying this time round. I have a 4yo but she was a surprise! So this is the first time we've decided to TTC - I'm obviously 5 years older this time round though so tracking etc as I imagine it'll be harder, who knows 🤷‍♀️

@ElizabethP141 hey welcome to the club! I’m on cd12 and still no sign of ovulation. I’ve been tracking my periods for 6 months but never ovulation. I wish I had because now I worry about if I even ovulate.

@Wondergirl1111 I agree it’s such weird times and I’m constantly going back and forth on the best time to start this journey but I don’t know if there’s ever a ‘perfect’ time.

@Hallie91 I agree this feels like one of the few things I can focus on in these crazy times!

I just got a notification to say my ovulation tests won't be here until possibly after I've ovulated this month so we'll be winging it! Any one know of other tips to tell? X

@Hallie91 I know this is a bit grim but I go off my CM- if it is EWCM I guess I’m ovulating/about to. But I have decided to try ovulation strips next month to see I’m I’m right!

Does anyone have a really hard time not telling people you're trying?

I think because our wedding isn't going ahead as planned this year and we are yet to rebook (because we're hoping to have another baby first now) everyone is finding it strange we don't give them straight answers when they ask. 🙈

Yes definitely I’ve found it hard! We got married in August and so straightaway it begins “when’s a baby coming...”

I’m quite adamant I don’t want anyone knowing because I don’t want the added pressure of people asking but I know my DH would love to tell his friends/family.

Ahh covid and weddings though - what a minefield!

@Hallie91 I wouldn't mind my close friends and parents knowing but my OH doesn't want anyone knowing. He's a very private person. And his dad always asks when we will have a baby as it'll be the first in their family and I would tell him but my OH is having none of it. Everyone is different I suppose🤷🏻‍♀️

@ElizabethP141 oh I feel you! I'd literally just had my first and people were asking when I'd had a 2nd 🙈 I had the wedding coming up so people laid off asking for a bit!

@Aims1991 ah I totally understand both ways. I'm dying to tell my closest. I've been dying to talk about it with someone but I also realllly want the nice surprise of telling people rather than them expecting it. I absolutely loved how surprised and happy people were last time and really want that again.

@Hallie91 aw definitely the surprise of telling both or families is something I can't wait for, I just hope it doesn't take a while for it to happen. I'm not patient enough for that🙈

@Aims1991 same! I get ahead of myself and I keep trying to dial myself back as I know it probably won't happen so easily - but I can't stop thinking of how I'd announce to my fiancé if we ended up getting a BFP.

With my last one it was so unexpected and I was in so much shock I just blurted it out and cried uncontrollably with mixed emotions 😂 this time round would be a TOTALLY different experience and I want to make it special.
