Newbie TTC 2021 club!

Hi girls - looking for a little crew to share the ttc journey with - we are newbies this year - decided on Jan 31st to start trying after 12 years together! but had literally just missed my ovulation day for that cycle, so even though we had some fun over NY we are properly starting next cycle around the end of the month - just have to wait to finish this cycle now, and I've never wanted a period to come so quickly haha!

So - any cycle sisters out there who will be trying with me on or around end of Jan? I'm Cd21 right now.

And feel free to share stories and ages!

I'm 34 and have been off the pill for about 2 years now - we don't really use protection just pull out lol and never had a scare so I'm a little worried we could have a bit of a long journey. Although my mum conceived me first time trying so I'm praying it's in the genetics lol!

Not sure about you but I'm already getting obsessed which seems to be pretty normal lol but it would be good to have some pals to talk to rather than my cat or my husband, who I think I could quite quickly freak out if he knew just how many mum'snet threads I've read!

Also... What are you most looking forward to being pregnant?

@StressyLady ah no 😫 how many days late are you? CD40 is a long time to wait, hold in there! Could it still be too early for your cycle or not? With my first pregnancy I didn't get a line until I was officially late.

@Hallie91 My Clue app predicted AF at CD36, but in the past 6 cycles I've ranged from 27-46! So god knows when I'm actually due... It's very frustrating but it's only attempt 1 so ready and willing to try again! I've ordered some OPKs to help try and give me some idea next time...

Super thankful to have somewhere to blurt out my frustrations! :)

@StressyLady ah fingers crossed for cycle 2 🤞 I'd ordered some too but our town's post office has had a Covid outbreak so we've not had post in over a week. Hoping they arrive early this week as Glow predicts I'll ovulate on Friday but I'm not so sure as not tracked my cycle properly before.

I love coming on here and reading people's posts and seeing where they are with testing etc!

I'm either 4dpo or 8dpo depending on which static smiley face was actually ovulation 🙄 I'm working off 4dpo so I don't rush to test. But woke this morning with an awful headache and my gums are swollen and sore 😭 I've had a weird pulling sensation down low for about 3 Days that isn't easing up and I'm also quite constipated (sorry!) I don't know if any of this means anything but if I've to feel this crap just to get my AF in a week or so I'm going to be writing someone a strong worded letter 😂😂

@Fifi1086 that sounds promising! When are you going to test? I'm only CD9/10 and I've had a hard pulling sensation today but it'll be a result of too much BDing 😂😂

@Hallie91 😂😂 we took a 2 day break, DP said he hopes we don't get a BFP this month because it's been the best couple of weeks ever 😂

I'm not sure, I've put myself on a test ban for a week but I'm also weak so let's see how long that lasts!

I know what you mean - when I asked if he was going to be ok to try do it everyday he laughed at me 😂😂😂

@Hallie91 😂😂 well tbh DP was feeling the pressure psychologically the first few days so I just told him that fertile days had passed (they hadn't) and now he thinks he's just an absolute stud and I want him for his body! No point informing him of my cycle as it's totally over the top of his head. I'd need to find some sort of football analogy!

@Fifi1086 I had those same symptoms, my gums bled for a few days and I was all crampy! I suffer bad headaches at times so I don't really notice a different with that! I had 3 BFN then a bit of spotting and AF arrived 4 days late but it's seemed so different this month and I'm not sure why🤷🏻‍♀️

Ohhh interesting symptoms and that sounds hopeful 💕 well done on the test ban, you certainly have good willpower 😂

I had a really really tiny FP last month (ovulated 4 days after period ended) so was a little concerned about that. I’m now on CD7, AF finished 2 days ago and a stark negative OPK today so fingers crossed for a more ‘normal’ FP.

It’s honestly so useful/interesting/good for ours heads to have a space to speak all about this! Without reading some of this threat and others i just second guess everything and think everything is a massive sign of something being wrong 🤯

Hi all, hope I'm OK to join. I'm on cycle 1 ttc our first and currently 8dpo, trying not to symptom spot but driving myself crazy 🙄 was on cerelle and it really messed up my cycles so still not really sure if I'm counting correctly, could have missed ovulation completely 😂 dtd lots though either side just in case! Af due next Sunday so a long week ahead.

Hi @KM11 I was on cerazette which is the same as cerelle and this is my first month off it but I ovulated so that's a good sign! Been monitoring cycle with opks, big learning curve 😂 but not expecting miracles this month, I do hope it'll happen but won't be overly disappointed if it doesn't!

@Fifi1086 I actually came off it late September but my af was all over the place, thought I'd finally settled into a regular cycle then af came 15 days early around Christmas 🙈 so I'm just guessing on cycle length and ovulation day tbh. Not using anything other than an app at this point, had some cramps about a week or so ago when af would have been due but nothing. Had v. Light spotting last 3 days but not red af blood so hoping I'm not out this month but who knows 🤞 only a week to wait but it's dragging. Its so good to hear good stories from people who were also on cerelle/cerezette, I've got my fingers crossed for you!

@Fifi1086 @KM11 I got pregnant while on cerezette the first time round 🙈 I only missed one pill and had been on antibiotics that shouldnt have weakened it much, if at all.

I've not been on any contraception for over 2 years now - we just used PO method or protection as nothing was agreeing with me at all.

Sorry for absence - it's been great cacthing up on the conversation - have I missed anything massive? Have we got our first BFP yet?!

Well, there's not one here - AF arrived yesterday - waking with horrific cramps followed by some of the worse PMS emotions ever - we went for a walk yesterday and I had a full breakdown at the beginning crying my eyes out, truly feeling like I hated myself and that I was disgustingly ugly.
Honestly, it just felt good to get it all out and then a walk up some big hills and sweating it out and getting my body moving really helped my emotions and my cramps! Feel much better today. I'm glad I have someting positive to focus on - af means day 1 of a new cycle and I can't wait to get that OPK cracked open!

What's new with you guys? anyone late with their AF and waiting to test? xx

@Wondergirl1111 my AF arrived today 😭explains the spotting, moods and cramps! Didn't think there was much chance this month but still disappointing. But day 1 of new cycle and fingers crossed for this time 🤞

I don't even know anymore if I'm on my TWW,my head is wrecked. I'm still checking with the cb advanced digital opks, so far they've shown a peak day on cd11, 16 and now I'm getting flashing smileys again and now I'm getting flashing smileys again on cd20. It's my first month off the mini pill but I always ovulated when on it. I know you aren't meant to read anything from the sticks, but when I look at the sticks the test line today is much darker than it's ever been. I think I might just switch to internet cheapies as I want to punch the smiley face at this stage

Hello! Only just catching up myself. Unfortunately nothing to report here. Took a test this morning after AF failed to show up at the weekend but it was a BFN. I’m assuming the spotting I had last week was an extremely light period so I’m now on cycle 2.

Really hope someone gets a BFP soon!

So AF is now away so time to start trying again! Still find it very strange that my cycle wasn't the same as usual, tampons were hurting, I peed like every half hour and I have mild cramping today! AF was 4 days late and is never late I had 3 BFN but I'm wondering if I should take a test? I know you don't get a period if pregnant but I just feel very weird and over the last 2/3 weeks I've had some strange symptoms. My friend had a period when she was pregnant and midwife told her it happens sometimes🤷🏻‍♀️ just don't want to see another BFN🙄 anyone else been like this?

@aims1991 that does sound strange - say that wasn't your Af - how many days 'late' would you be now? And was your af light , or normal flow for you?
I'd say keep going as if you aren't pregnant just incase eg DTD but also keep testing! As you say, it does happen, or could have been spotting mistaken for af? Ultimately you know your body and if a few things are different then you have good reason to keep testing! XXX

@Km11 - too bad, but were AF twinning! Let's coach each other through ovulation predictions for this new cycle!

@jenn101 how annoying for you! Is it usual for you to have a very light period? And did that happen right on time when your period was due? Or was it later/earlier?
I know some people are super regular - I am pretty much but since I started tracking it has surprised Me to see how many little variables change each month even though I thought I was regular!

And @Fifi1086 I don't even know what to say! Three smiley faces?! So technically the sticks are saying you've ovulated three times this month and you don't know exactly which one it actually is? What a mind game! I guess if you have been DTD the whole time you must have covered literally all bases though! Were you taking the cheapie line tests alongside the clear blue smileys the whole time too or have you just resorted to them after all this smiley face mania? A dark line sounds promising? Im trying them next week and have to say I don't have much faith based on a few people saying now they have experienced this!

@Wondergirl1111 Hey, I would now be 10 days late. And yeah it was a lot lighter than normal.
Yeah I mom just continuing as normal and hoping for s BFP in February x

@Aims1991 you sound very calm and positive! Good for you xxx - I'm hoping for a BFP in Feb for us both! It's fun to think that some of us hopefully will and we will have something to celebrate!

@Wondergirl1111 sorry to hear about AF.. is this the first time you are using the OPKs? Which ones have you gone for?

I’m on CD20, and had some spotting this morning which took me by surprise. I do very rarely get it between cycles but no where this much which i am hoping is a positive sign of implantation. I am 5 days post smiley face opk so guessing that is too soon?

I’ve been trying to stay away from Mumsnet for a few days just to stop obsessing but back down the rabbit hole after this morning
