So I got a faint positive within 2 minutes of testing, the test time was 5 minutes.. and now 3 days later I have got bleeding? Like dark brown/red and thick.. normally when my period starts I get small amounts of brown cm and then it gets thicker until I start my period? I’ve had every single pregnancy symptom and I was waiting on more tests to arrive... is this a period? Or something I should be worrying about Sad

Hi @Ttc274894929 - the frustrating thing about early pregnancy is that it's so hard to tell whether bleeding is cause for concern. Lots of women experience bleeding and go on to have healthy pregnancies and babies, me included, but for others, bleeding can mean a chemical pregnancy (a very early miscarriage - again, I've experienced this too).

It's so difficult, but sadly the only thing you can do is wait a couple of weeks. In your shoes, I'd schedule an early scan (at around seven weeks from the first day of your last period) as, if the pregnancy is viable, at this point a heartbeat should be visible, which means there's a strong chance the pregnancy will progress. If you have a scan before then, there will still be a lot of uncertainty.

I'm offering you tentative congratulations and hoping for a good outcome for you Thanks

@RedPandaFluff 7 weeks would be next week.. I’ve got more tests on the way, should I wait until a couple days after the bleeding has stopped and then test again? Thank you for your help Smile

The tests won't tell you very much, I'm afraid - even if the pregnancy hasn't continued, you'll probably still have hcg hormone in your body which would make the tests show positive anyway. Nature is cruel - I still had pregnancy symptoms for about a week after chemical pregnancies/miscarriages.

The best thing to do is wait and have a scan. How is the bleeding now - is it heavy?

If you're 6 weeks currently I would expect a very strong positive on any pregnancy test so I'm afraid it doesn't sound good Thanks

It's not looking good, @Ttc274894929, but of course it's impossible for us to know for sure. I'm crossing my fingers for you x
