Currently hoping for another baby but also terrified of being ill again as had hyperemesis so badly last pregnancy. Is there anything at all I can do to prevent or help ease it is it true taking medication before it starts can help?

Sorry, I don't have any answers for you but wanted to follow your thread as I'm in the same boat. Didn't have hyperemesis but was horrendously nauseous 24/7 for the first 17 weeks of my first pregnancy and it's the only thing putting me TTC again.

It's horrible isn't it I was hoping to go to gp for advice and plan on medication before hand but the way everything is with covid at moment I don't think that will be possible

Start on the ondansetron / cyclizine/ omeprazole before the full sickness kicks in.
Be prepared to be signed off work and don't feel guilty.
Push push GP and midwives to support you.
Access the hypermemesis threads here and pregnancy sickness support.
Some people find its easier the second time round. I had it worse but was able to manage it better. (And I'm not doing it again!!)
Good luck and its ok to want to throttle anyone who makes disparaging comments about 'only sickness'

Thank you I can't find any recent hyperemesis threads on here you don't have a link to them do you please ? Can I take ondansetron cyclicine and ompremazole all at same time?

I'm currently 14 weeks pregnant with my second, I had HG first time around and I'm really sorry to report this time has been even worse 😩 All I can say is be prepared, I expected the worst and seem to have coped a lot better this time as I knew it was coming.
Good luck on your TTC journey x

Both times terrible HG. I managed it better the second time early intervention and willingness to take medication:) not trying and hoping ginger /sea sick bands would work etc!!!
The 2nd time wasn’t any less sickness but my management of it was better.

I didnt get diagnosed with hypermesies but I was extremely sick from about 6 weeks up till about 18 weeks. I couldnt eat, I couldn't watch TV, look at a screen, no butter on toast no sugar in tea nothing with a smell for ages! I would be sick at work on floor then clean it up and carry on with my day 🤣🤣🙈 i eventually got prescribed anti sickness tabs. Which made me hallucinate and have vertigo!!! Its been 10 years now im TTC#2 that's how much it put me off. But eating plain food, no smell and staying cold helped me sorry I don't have a magic answer
