It will be 7 weeks on tuesday since my mmc, well actually 8 but i 'lost everything' nearly 7 weeks ago, i bled for a week after and i admit we started ttc again straight after, so nearly 6 weeks. I still have had no af and tests keep coming up negative so i dont know whats going on down there.

Has anyone had a m/c and not had af for nearly 2 months after?

im afraid that a mc (especially a missed one) can really mess up your cycle. didnt you get a couple of faint bfps? i would see your gp and DEMAND a blood test!

iliketotrickortreat · 26/10/2007 21:16

i did but i think they were false positives, im hoping that i did actually ovulate on the 16th and i get a bfp within the next couple of days but until then my head is screwed

no such thing as a false positive. get thee to a physician. you need to know one way or another

iliketotrickortreat · 26/10/2007 21:24

i meant evap line aparently taking the strip out of the case before the test is complete can cause bfp looking evap lines.

Is that you iliketosleep?

It is possible to get a false positive from the remaining levels of hcg but after 6/7 weeks they are nearly always back to normal. (I looked it all up in September after my own m/c).

A GP can do blood tests for hcg levels and then test again a few days later, if the hcg level is rising, then you are pregnant again. They may of course just tell you to wait or refer you for a scan.

I think you should do another test in the next week and go see your GP. If the test is negative then AF will no doubt be along soon and you'll at least be able to date your next pregnancy properly (that'll please the medics)!

Good luck & best wishes.
