hi all, I was wondering if anyone has stopped the pill had the withdrawal bleed which is like a period. Then started trying before 1st natural period?? I had withdrawal bleed 22nd-27th Dec. Then based on flo app im due AF 19th Jan. I've DTF from 28th Dec to 8th Jan is it possible to get pregnant?? Or not because its not a true cycle? Any advice appreciated

sorry was meant to say DTD not DTF 🙈

Hey!
In a similar situation.
Stopped the pill beginning of November, a week later I had my withdrawal bleed and then was having unprotected sex. I didn't have a period throughout the whole of December and finally got it on the 4th jan 😓 honestly thought I was pregnant.
I've read it is possible but all depends if you have ovulated or not! Hard to tell as I never tracked it when I was on the pill so it's like starting all over! 🙈

MMG21 · 09/01/2021 16:24

@emilyylouise ahh sorry to hear that what a shame! Damn bodies making is get excited. Well that's the thing the pill drops ovulation doesn't it so wouldn't even know if we ovulate. I guess I'll know more when my AF appears and I can start tracking from then I just dont want to have to test for ovulation i don't want to become that obsessed about it because I'll make myself crazy. Fingers crossed it happens soon for us both xx 🤞

@MMG21

It's so hard to not get obsessed!! I suppose now I have had my first proper period since coming off this will officially be our first month trying. I'm just sooooo impatient 🤣 I have bought 50 ovulation strips from Amazon was only around £8! But at least I will work out quite quickly what my body is doing 🙈
Fingers crossed it happens quickly for you 🤞🏻

bonzo77 · 09/01/2021 16:29

I did with my first. Stopped pill 10 days before my wedding. Withdrawal bleed. Honeymoon. Proper period never arrived. Didn’t think much of it but eventually did a pregnancy test prior just in case. Was about 9 weeks by then.

MMG21 · 09/01/2021 16:32

@emilyylouise I think I may buy some of them at first just so I know when ovulate is. I have been on the pill for 9 years my daughter is nearly 10! I know im a bit late in the game to TTC #2.🙈 I think itlll be easier than if I would have done it when she was a toddler. She can help me now. Xx

MMG21 · 09/01/2021 16:34

@bonzo77 oh really so it can happen, that's reassuring thank you 😊 🙏 I'm 29 now and been on the pill 9 years so I do feel like that may go against me. And I doubt it would have happened so fast. Although it would be great. Xx

eczemagate · 09/01/2021 16:35

I did with my first! I ovulated a few weeks later than normal after my withdrawal bleed, so it confused things a bit. According to my last period I was 12 weeks but at my scan only 9. Good luck!

eczemagate · 09/01/2021 16:36

Oh also, I was 28 and had been on the pill for 10 years Smile

emilyylouise · 09/01/2021 16:38

@MMG21
This would be our first so I have no clue about any of it!
I'm 23 but have been on some sort of birth control since 15 as used to get super bad periods! Just trying to not get stressed about it 🙈

MMG21 · 09/01/2021 16:44

@eczemagate oh really, so it can happen yeah maybe I should play it safe and keep DTD as much as i can 😂😂 just incase I ovulate late too. I've DTD most nights since 27th Dec im theoretically due AF 19th Jan if I go off a 28 day cycle like I was on pill. So according to flo app from today there's a low chance 🙈🙈 but no harm in keeping it up i suppose xx

@emilyylouise oh fab good luck with baby #1 I hope it happens quick and then everything is smooth sailing for you.. xx

bonzo77 · 09/01/2021 16:51

@MMG21 I was 31 and had been on the pill 15 years, and one of my friends had a very similar experience. It definitely happens.

MMG21 · 09/01/2021 16:59

@bonzo77 I have 2 friends who were on injection and one on implant and got pregnant 1st time i just thought there was more of a chance when you stop them compared to the pill xx

@emilyylouise
I'm in exactly the same position as you, stopped pill in November had a withdrawal bleed.... Convinced myself I was pregnant over new year as I had symptoms but got my period on 2nd January!
At least I should hopefully get regular now and we can properly start trying!
I'm 26 and husband is nearly 30, we have been married just over 3 years and I would have loved a honeymoon baby but we needed to wait until we bought our house, saved money etc etc so I'm now desperate for a positive, feels like I've been waiting forever even though we've only really started trying haha I'm too impatient!
Best of luck 🤞

emilyylouise · 09/01/2021 18:41

@Sparkles512

I get so impatient 🤣 but trying to enjoy it and not get stressed! 🙈

ploopypleepy · 11/01/2021 15:03

Following this for info as I'm in the same situation. Came off the pill last week, started withdrawal bleed today. Wondering if I will ovulate after the withdrawal bleed as if it's a normal cycle. This is following a MMC. Exciting!

MMG21 · 11/01/2021 15:41

@ploopypleepy aww sorry to hear about the MC. And I have no idea yet I'm waiting for AF to arrive then see if i have a normal cycle?? Its always been 28 days on and off the pill. So I have no idea if you ovulate after a withdrawal bleed or not. Had conflicting theories 🤣🤣 some say yes and some say it can take upto 3 months. Xx

OP posts:
ploopypleepy · 11/01/2021 15:47

@MMG21 What day of your cycle are you on now? Have you gone past the normal 28 days yet? I guess it could depend on how long you we were on the pill for too maybe? Let's hope we are ovulating already anyway xx

MMG21 · 11/01/2021 15:53

@ploopypleepy if I go off CD1 being 1st day of withdrawal bleed (22nd dec) I am on CD 19 now so due AF on 19th Jan. Thats based on 28 days. ive DTD most nights not every night and flo app says low chance right now as I'm 9 days away from period but I dont know i could be only just ovulating now so I'll still DTD so in covered haha but i have no idea i may not get AF till day 35 just because I've been on the pill for 9 years xx

OP posts:
ploopypleepy · 11/01/2021 16:05

@MMG21 hopefully your AF turns up and then you have some idea of when you will ovulate!! I guess it's just a total guessing game isn't it until our cycles are back to normal. We've also been DTD regularly but not really expecting anything this month. Is it the combined pill you have been on? I came off the depo a couple of years and it took 9 months to have regular periods again Shock. That's why I went for the pill this time. Xx

MMG21 · 11/01/2021 16:11

yeah I was on micro gynon then it changed to rigevedon. Apparently loads of complaints about rigevedon giving people mental heath issues?? I didnt notice a change at all. But supposedly its meant to be out of your system a few days then hopefully cycle goes to normal between 1-3 months I hope I'm lucky and don't get AF and get BFP but I highly doubt it time on pill and age are not on my side lol xx

SlipperyLizard · 11/01/2021 16:12

I did with DD2, came off pill, had usual withdrawal bleed. I started spotting a few weeks later and thought my period had come, then started feeling the awfulness that is (for me) early pregnancy, so did a test that came back positive. Spotting/bleeding continued so I had an early scan which showed bleeding from the implantation site. Thankfully the pregnancy stuck!

MMG21 · 11/01/2021 16:21

@SlipperyLizard aww fab so great when it happens quick 😊 I keep getting the feeling that AF has arrived when I check nothing there not even wetness or mucus. Like ghost AF trickles.. anyone else??? I had it when I was pregnant with my DD after I knew I was pregnant though like a few weeks after coz i kept panicking thinking oh no im having a MC.

@MMG21 I finished the pill 17th dec, withdrawal bleed from 21st-25th. Got OPKS and was on high fertility the beginning of this month. Then I got a period on the 6th for 3 days, did an OPK yesterday and was at peak fertility! Period/OV is all over the place for a few months that's why they said to wait, not because you're not fertile, so if you do get pregnant they can tell how many weeks you are. If we ended up pregnant this month I'd have no idea how to track how many weeks I am 😂
