Faint positive?!

Hi lovelies,

Found out I was pregnant a week before Christmas then had a miscarriage with it not passing through.
Blood tests showed that my hcg level had gone right down and was minimum so they said I had deffo miscarried as tiny hcg level and urine tests went from positive to faint positives and then negatives (multiple) I knew I miscarried due to the pain I was having.
Fast forward - I started bleeding Sunday (passing miscarriage) which was awful and so painful.
Fast forward again to today Friday - the bleeding has stopped so I’ve taken a pregnancy test just to make sure and it’s now showing a faint positive ?! Unless it’s my eyes deceiving me!!!
Please help!
I don’t know whether to call Early Preg Unit or to go A&E due to still having the pain!

Are these Sainsbury's tests? Those have been notorious for faint lines without being positive.

Greenbks · 09/01/2021 05:38

Sorry about the miscarriage, I hope you’re getting the emotional support you need. I second that. Sainsburys tests have always brought up positives for me. You worked be better off testing with a FR to settle your mind.

Smit10 · 09/01/2021 17:27

Thank you! I’ve just gone out and got some FRER tests and freedom tests (both pink dye) going to try them tonight. Still in a lot of pain and very very nauseous and dizzy and a achy pain in my shoulder is happening.
Will post results abit later when I take the tests xx

Did you have blood work to see if your hcg is absolutely zero? I'm 4 weeks post miscarriage and still getting positives. My hcg from blood work was 15 on Tuesday so should be pretty low by now but it's still showing faint positives.

Hiya, My hcg had dropped to 3 so no hcg is present basically so therefore shouldn't be showing positive xxx

@Smit10, you have the classic signs of an ectopic which can be fateful. Please call 111 or get yourself to your nearest A&E. Pain in the shoulder is often indicative of internal bleeding with an ectopic. I read your post this morning and when you said you glee but were then getting positives I wondered then whether it could be ectopic.

I would call 111 now if I were you

SweetShopSurprise · 09/01/2021 17:35

Fatal* even

Thank you. Do you think I should call 111 or go straight to A&E? Xxx

I think I’d just turn up at A&E. In all honesty as soon as you mention your symptoms (especially the shoulder pain) I’d imagine they’d see you pretty sharpish. I don’t want to worry you but it really can be fatal if left, if you really are not feeling too good and do have the shoulder pain then you really need to take it seriously and get seen

Just saw the comment about achy shoulder, definitely symptoms of ectopic. I hope you are getting seen ASAP but I hope it is not what we think. X

Hi lovely I was just about to comment echoing what others are saying. I'm sure you're absolutely fine, and probably (and hopefully!) just one of those things, but please do get checked ❤️ I'll keep it all crossed for you xx

So glad you’re getting seen OP, even if it is a wait.

Just an update - I passed the miscarriage whilst here. They don’t want me to go home yet but I said I want too so they have agreed and put me on stronger pain meds and I have access to come straight back to ward if I want too x
