Spotting 9 days before AF

I'm just wondering if this has happened to anyone else and if it is a positive sign? I generally have a 28 day cycle so too late for ovulation I would have thought. Maybe I'm being too optimistic. I've been TTC for over 2 years now and apart from a suspected early miscarriage, absolutely nothing. I'm getting really depressed about it as I'm 39 now as see this as my last year.

Ps I've never had spotting before ever in between periods. I'm getting paranoid it's a sign of something else.

@Dramallama82 didn't want to read and run, it could be implantation bleeding or if you ovulated late it's rare but some women have had ovulation bleeding/spotting!
If your worried tho I'd call your go and ask them for advice, maybe do a few tests x

@Ginini thanks so much for replying. I didn't do ovulation tests this month but when I have I have ovulated around the day 15 mark so it would be very unusual for it to be this late. I'm so sure I'll be disappointed as usual but who knows.

Anybody else any experience of this? Spotting only lasted a few hours and has now stopped.
