Should I take the Norethisterone?

I wonder if anyone has any sensible advice as I think I've gone a little crazy TTC2.
I came off the pill in May and my cycles have been irregular; when I first came off it was 59 days, 45 days, 30 days, 30 days and I was convinced things had regulated but now on day 48 and 4 BFNs later.. I've had nothing except some v bad cramps Boxing day.
I've had blood tests on what turned out to be CD14 at that time and doctors said everything was fine, had a scan and all looked OK apparently.
Doctor has now prescribed Norethisterone to induce a bleed but I'm nervous to take it as I'm not sure I want to take any more hormones and I'm worried the damage it will do for future cycles.
Does anyone have any advice/experience of it?
My DD1 was concieved accidently on the pill Blush and I really didn't think it would be so hard this time around Sad

I've only ever taken it to stop a period for my wedding/ holidays. When I stop taking it I have the most horrific period pain. Sorry that's the only helpful thing I can contribute x

I’ve taken it to induce a period after a missed one following a mc. No effect on my cycles at the time and I’m still regular now 😊

I took it several times in the lead up to an IVF cycle. That cycle didn't work and my periods were all over the place for about 6 months; I was then prescribed it to regulate my cycle. I took it and got pregnant on the next cycle after three years of unexplained infertility!

I take norethisterone for ivf. Personally I think as you had cramps Boxing Day you could say that might be ovulation so leave it two weeks after then and test. I occasionally have a cycle that's 50 or so days with most be 33. I think the general advice is to wait until the span of two usual periods combined has passed before gp help.
