Irregular cycles, LH tests

Hi everyone,
Fairly new here, have posted once previously. Back story is TTC since summer with irregular cycles (previously 27-48 days). Started using LH tests this cycle but I’m now on day 68 with no LH surge and 2 BFNs on day 56 and 63 😫 I’m in contact with my GP about the cause (suspect PCOS), but I’d hate to wait months to ovulate and then miss it. So it got me thinking, is it possible to get the tests wrong?

  • Are there good and bad OPKs? And is it a case of you get what you pay for?
  • The tests I have say to leave your wee about 20 mins come to room temperature... is this really necessary? I haven’t seen the same advice on others or online.
  • I’ve been testing about 11-12ish every day and up to 3 times a day every time it has gone even a bit darker (never more than 0.6)... when they say the LH surge would happen between 11 and 3, is this in relation to normal sleep patterns as mine is different in lockdown although I haven’t suddenly started doing nights or anything.

Have googled but can’t seem to find anything that doesn’t come from a brand recommending their own product.

Also if anyone here can reassure me it’s possible to get pregnant when your cycles have gone haywire, that’d be great! 🤞🏻

TIA!
