Multiple miscarriages with multiples (blighted ovums)

I just found out today I am having my second miscarriage. I suffered my first in October which ended up being a triplet blighted ovum (three empty sacs) at 7 weeks (only measured 4-5 weeks). Today I had an early scan after some spotting at ten weeks and they found two empty sacs, this time measuring 6.5 weeks (supposed to be ten weeks today). Heartbroken but more confused - has anyone else experienced anything like this? How could I have got pregnant twice, both times with multiples, and miscarried twice in the same way (empty sacs)? Be great to hear anyone’s experiences or just any thoughts as it’s a very lonely place to be and have no clue about any reasons why! Thank you x

Not experienced this but just a handheld. I had 3 miscarriages myself before having DD1. Don't lose hope.

I've had a blighted ovum with a multiple pregnancy (twins). From what I was told, pregnancies where the egg splits are more fragile as there's more chance of damage to the egg.

I also possibly have 'hyper fertility' where my body doesn't check over an egg before implantation. When TTC I basically got pregnant each time but the pregnancies didn't last. Maybe you have similar?

Thanks so much for your responses x appreciate the hand hold @wheelsonthebus21. So happy for you with your DD. The one silver lining of it is as the two early scans have been so unusual they’ve referred me for tests now instead of waiting for three. @AintOverUntilTheCatLadySings that’s so helpful and so good to hear about someone who’s been through similar (although so sorry for your loss, heartbreaking). Never thought about hyper fertility that’s really interesting and could definitely make sense. I assumed I was hyper ovulating, but eggs splitting could also be an option. It’s so painfully sad and just wish ttc was easier - getting to ten weeks with bad symptoms and thinking I’m close to the end of the risky and symptomatic stage only to find this out has been so difficult. Thought it’d get easier after the first but definitely isn’t :(. Thanks guys
