TTC week b4 period. When to test?

We started TTC a week before I was “supposed” to get my period (they’re slightly irregular and I don’t know my cycle but it’s been over a month since my last)

And I didn’t get my period the day I thought I would this week (when I thought it would start)

Obviously not getting my period yet (been over a month since my last one) is making me really get my hopes up that I’m pregnant...

but any ideas on when I can actually test if I am and HOPEFULLY get a positive test???

Thanks!!

Ovulation is generally around 14 days prior to period.
Were you on contraception before? It may be that it’s just your body getting used to being off it.

But you can do a test now if your period is late.

@Mooey89 okay thanks. I was never taught anything about cycles so it's really confusing to me.
No I haven't been on any birth control for years. I found out I was pregnant in September on my birthday but lost the baby and had a D&C about a month ago.

I took a test this morning but it's negative ATM. I think it's too early to tell as haven't been trying long at all
