New pregnancy or miscarriage?

I know no one can give me a definite answer, however, I was hoping to hear some other experiences.

I had a miscarriage three weeks ago. I was very early and it was very much like a normal period. I was testing negative 7 days later.

I've got a very faint positive today. What do you think the chances are of it being a new pregnancy?

If you've had a negative test since then it's likely to be a new pregnancy.

However that is a super quick timeline. In theory to get a BFP today you'd probably had needed to ovulate 10-12 days ago?

I'd recommend waiting 2-3 days and retesting with the same brand of test as today. In theory you should see a darker line which should confirm this as a new pregnancy.

Tentative congratulations 😊

@Hope302
I'm so sorry for your loss. From what I've read and I've read alot, a positive after a negative usually indicates a new pregnancy. However with it beong 3 weeks since your mc it could be left over hcg. He test that showed negative could have been a high sensitivity and the one that showed positive could have been a low sensitivity. Hope that helps. Having said that, if you've had unprotected sex there's every possibility.

I'm in limbo at the min. I had a mc 5 weeks ago. Scan at 2 weeks later showed empty uterus and hpt were almost negative. So faint you had to squint etc. I've had unprotected sex twice since mc.
I took a clear blue on Sunday which measures 25ml plus and it came back 1-2 weeks.
Monday i tested with cheap strips (10ml) and got negative.
Today i tested with first responce (6ml) and got a very clear positive.
My dilemma is I'm bleeding lightly. So ot could be implantation bleeding (i had that with previous loss)
Chemical/early mc or it's left over hcg.
I'm so confused right now and just want to know what the hell is going on.

Do you know the sensitivity of the test you used with the positive?

Hi @Hope302

I had a miscarriage last cycle at 5 weeks and bleeding started on 26th Nov. Very much like a normal period for 4 days.

I tested three weeks later as advised by EPU and it was negative. Three days later I had some cramps so I tested and got a positive! The lines have continued to get darker.

It's very possible you're pregnant again. Keep testing maybe in a couple of days - good luck!

Thanks everyone. It's soooo frustrating, isn't it?!

I'm not sure how much, but they're the easy@home standard ones.

I also thought it'd be far too early to tell, but I had a funny feeling and couldn't help myself.

Wish I'd just waited to be honest!

If you tested negative in between, it has to be a new pregnancy.

Good luck.

@Hope302 mine were easy at home! Clear line 2 days before period was due.
