Has anyone conceived naturally over 43?

I'm nearly 44. Wanted more hasn't happened and have had losses. I'm now at the point of giving up and focussing my attention on my amazing dd who is 8. It's hard to move on and despite all the heartache and the worry of having another loss or worse health issues with another child I can't seem to stop thinking it might happen even if it's a very slim chance. I know dd may not welcome a sibling after being an only all this time and will not play together anyway but I just wondered..

Has anyone conceived naturally over 43. How did it work out?

I was 43 when I conceived naturally but hopefully someone will come along in a min who was older

Conceived and had a child without difficulty or complication at 43.

But it’s only your body, your life, that counts. You know it can happen, but that isn’t the same as it happening for you.

But I hope you do get a happy outcome, whatever that might be.

I was 42 when I conceived ds3 naturally. I'm still regular as clockwork but 51 now so wouldn't want any more. But the pregnancy and birth was completely straightforward.

I conceived naturally and very quickly in a new relationship at age 41. Was an ectopic pregnancy so did not end well, but I had taken the MAP, which I believe is a risk factor.

I’m currently 45 and ttc. I’m only taking natural supplements, don’t want to go to a fertility specialist because of the possibility of multiple births. So it if doesn’t work naturally then that’s it for me.

2 cousins of DH's both concieved age 44. 1 already had a 20yr old with her 1st husband, then decided to TTC with her 2nd husband, who has no children. She saw a fertility specialist who said her chances were 3%, but possibly 5% with IVF! She fell naturally within months and has a happy 4yr old now.

I'm almost 43. TTC 10yrs, 3 losses and just had my 2nd round of IVF. No kids and no cause for sub-fertility found.

Have you had any checks done? Bloods, scans, AMA, semen analysis etc? Alot can change in 8yrs since your last child, so would be worth checking if you are going to TTC. best of luck x

41 next month I know I’m not quite 43 but ttc number 3. 3 loses and then struggling to conceive over several months. Fell easily and no loses before 39. X

My baby is 9 now. It's been lovely but harder than when I was younger and had more energy. But he has two big brothers who do things with him as well so it balances out.

GingerScallop · 28/12/2020 16:46

My first at 41 after trying for two years and having two miscarriages. My second was unexpected surprise pregnancy at 42, born a few months after 43. My mum had a natural pregnancy at 46 then 48. So yes, it's possible

IndieTara · 28/12/2020 17:20

I conceived naturally at 42. Not a straightforward pregnancy as pre eclampsia, induced early and emergency section . I didn't want any more tho

AntiHop · 28/12/2020 18:45

I'm 43 and 25 weeks pregnant. When we stated ttc I was 42. Took 8 months, with a chemical pregnancy in that time. All is going well with the pregnancy so far.

I conceived naturally at 45, no issues throughout the pregnancy and had a healthy baby boy 11 weeks ago!

Concieved at lost at 43, a er on no contraceptopn but not pregnant. Not sure if it,s due to menapause, Iregular cycles. (I have never been clockwork.) or sideeffects of miscarriage.

SillyOldMummy · 29/12/2020 17:50

I conceived naturally age 43, very quickly too! And had a straightforward pregnancy and delivery (started out a bit overweight but was careful not to put too much weight on during pregnancy).

I also have an 8 year age gap and it has worked out wonderfully, my two kids absolutely adore each other. My perfect family of three became a perfect family of four.
