Implantation symptoms

Hi all, I know this board is inundated with similar posts but I’m going a little mad here and could really do with advice. My partner and I have been trying for a year and I don’t want to get my hopes up unnecessarily! (Also apologies for if TMI below)

Late Christmas Eve I got a sharp pain in my left side. I was pretty sure that was my period started so went to check. I had some very light pink on the loo roll. Used a tampon before bed then thought nothing of it. The next morning there was barely anything on the tampon and the for the last couple of days I’ve barely had any blood. If so, it’s just been light pink again and infrequently. I’ve had some mild cramping. My boobs are still quite tender which usually goes when my period starts.

Last night I used a one step cheapie. Nothing.
This morning I used a frer and after a couple of minutes got a very faint pink line. So faint it’s really hard to get a photo of it.

However I’m still spotting and every time I go to the loo I’m terrified my period is going to start.

Could the pain and spotting have been implantation bleeding?
Is a pink line, however faint, a bfp?

Any advice so welcome!

Hope everything is ok

Hello, was waiting until after my appt to update. Inconclusive at this stage. Nothing seen on scan so classed as Pregnancy of Unconfirmed Location (PUL). I was expecting this as it’s still very early, but was hoping they might see something so I could get on with things rather than all this never ending uncertainty! They’ve done a blood test today tho and I’ll do another Friday. That should hopefully give some more answers! Annoyingly tho I probably won’t get the result of those until Monday morning....

Thats a little stressful for you still. I guess thats why the two doctors I spoke to wouldn't push for a scan yet. Fingers crossed your bloods come back good! I know how you feel about the uncertainty of it...I'm back to work Friday because I feel like staying off will do nothing with regards to the outcome and I'm going mad googling everything.

kirinm · 06/01/2021 18:18

Sorry you're in this awful limbo and you weren't able to get any answers today. How are you feeling in yourself?

PriceEmUp · 06/01/2021 18:50

I know it’s hard to think when you’re seeing red on the toilet paper. But the strengthening positive tests, increasing symptoms and lack of pain actually sound positive in this situation.

The body is a weird and wonderful thing and my finger are tightly crossed for you!

Chica1990 · 06/01/2021 19:02

Sorry @AnaS86 it’s horrible to not know what’s going on. What time are you going for your bloods on Friday?

Chica1990 · 08/01/2021 17:03

@AnaS86 if you went for bloods earlier today hopefully they have them ready if you call now? 🤞🏻

AnaS86 · 08/01/2021 17:13

Sorry for not updating sooner. I went for my first set of bloods yesterday. Not good news. Hcg was 154, which is very low for 5+4 weeks. Even if dates are wrong and that goes up after the second test, my progesterone is very low. Only 3.4. So it wouldn’t make for a viable pregnancy in any event.
So tbh I’m crossing my fingers that the second test shows a significant fall so I don’t have the extra further worry of an ectopic pregnancy. Back in tmw morning and will have the results Monday so will let you know how this story ends.

Thanks for the support so far xx

(They lost my blood sample on Wednesday, hence why I had to do another one yesterday)

Oh I’m sorry @AnaS86 and sending you a virtual hug. Are you still bleeding or having positive pregnancy tests?

I can’t believe they lost your sample, how stressful. Try and take care of yourself this weekend ❤️ I know easier said that done.

kirinm · 08/01/2021 20:48

Sorry to hear that @AnaS86 how are you feeling generally?

AnaS86 · 08/01/2021 21:03

I feel ok. No pain, and the bleeding has stopped. Feel better for having some clarity, rather than the horrible limbo I was in before. (Still feel ‘pregnant’ tho)

Hello, just sending an update.
The hospital called with my second blood results. HcG is up from 154 to 596 which has more than doubled. They haven’t taken a second progesterone reading tho.

So I’m back in for an urgent scan this afternoon to check again for an ectopic pregnancy.

If they still can’t see anything, then who knows what’s going on. Although even they see something in my womb, low progesterone will almost certainly end in miscarriage.

So all a bit shit really. Wish me luck

Hi @AnaS86, just wishing you luck for the days ahead and hope something shows on the scan for you x

Chica1990 · 11/01/2021 12:53

@AnaS86. Thanks for letting us know and fingers crossed for later. Really hoping you get a good outcome to this x

kirinm · 11/01/2021 13:51

Good luck @AnaS86 I hope you're okay x

LuluF91 · 11/01/2021 18:25

Good luck, I hope you have plenty support at home too xxxx

Chica1990 · 11/01/2021 19:04

@AnaS86 how did the scan go? X

AnaS86 · 11/01/2021 19:13

They have now found an ectopic pregnancy in my right tube. Still very small. I have opted for methotrexate as less invasive and I’d like to keep my tube (apparently it’s likely they would just remove it if I opt for surgery). Heading in for this tmw provided my bloods all come back ok.

This will be my last post on this thread. I’ll be using the next few days to come to terms with it all. Thank you all for your support, it’s been so appreciated during a very uncertain time. Take care all and good luck with your own journeys xx

kirinm · 11/01/2021 19:26

I'm so sorry to hear your news @AnaS86 . I had methotrexate and it was a fairly drawn out process but it meant I didn't have my tube removed. I'm always here if you do decide you'd like to talk about it.

Chica1990 · 11/01/2021 19:31

Oh @AnaS86 I’m so sorry. It’s surprising your hcg was rising like that as ectopic hcg is usually quite stagnant (which is how they suspected mine as it wouldn’t show on the scan) so I was hoping things would be ok 💔

I’m glad they found it before things got worse and you have options. I hope you can have someone with you tomorrow and make sure you take time off work (if you are working atm) and take it easy.

Good luck with everything x
