TTC and breastfeeding

Hello, we'd like to try for a third (we're very lucky to have a 2yr old and a 5month old at the moment).

I'm not quite sure how to go about ttc when my periods haven't yet returned (I'm exclusively breastfeeding). I know obviously you need to have sex! But when we planned our current two kids I used those ovulation sticks, and wasn't breastfeeding.

What have peoples experiences been when ttc whilst breastfeeding?

Thanks

My experience with ttc and breastfeeding hasn't been great tbh. My first I fell pg straight away. Second I didn't manage to conceive until after I fully stopped breastfeeding, even though periods returned at 11 months, so we ttc over a year. I then fell pregnant while bf my second but miscarried. Obviously all of that may be coincidental but I've yet to have a successful pregnancy while bf!

Dd was 8 months old when I conceived dc2 and I was also breastfeeding but my periods had returned.
When they start eating meals and you feed a bit less, your periods should come back x

Got pg 5 times while bf (have 6 dc)
As soon as periods returned (at about 8 months) I was fertile again and even then I was still bf a LOT !!! So it doesn’t take much to get fertile again once they are weaning

Becoming pregnant hasn't been a problem for me whilst breastfeeding, I've had two early miscarriages but I'm sure this is unrelated.
