Any single moms by choice TTC?

Hello! I'm TTC through a known donor and going through the TWW is driving me crazy each month. I've had 6 inseminations last year (no luck) and am now in the TWW of my first try this year.

Any other single moms around here who'd like to join in and share symptoms (even though it's silly) and help each other through the cycles? :-)

Hey! How did it go for you? I am very interested in women that opt out of a male parent. I read that majority of primates and mammals the bio dads are not involved at all in child care.

Hi there! Didn't expect to ever get back to this post, how fun!

Naturally a few days after posting I got my BFP as a Christmas present, and I'm now a happy single mum to the best little girl ever. She'll soon be 3 months old.

So far it's been 90% amazing, best decision ever and enjoying it so so much. The other 10% is really tough... This is when she's going through something and crying a lot, or not drinking well, not sleeping etc. However even in those moments I've never wished I had a partner. I do call friends or family to vent sometimes though!

I really love that it's just my daughter and I - we're incredibly in tune with each other and I can very quickly meet her needs, often before others notice she has them. We go on loads of trips together and often she sleeps right through them in the carrier. Other times she watches the world with big eyes and surprises her grandparents and bonus-aunties and uncles with big smiles.

She will grow up to know her donor from the beginning so she'll never have a long period in her young life wondering about her identity.

Well, before I write ten pages about her, of course we will have to see how things turn out in the long run. But so far: amazing to have our tiny little family.

Are you considering to become a single mom or are you just curious? If you have any questions, happy to try and answer them!

Congratulations!
You say she will grow up to know the doner? Do they not want to be involved in her life now she is here?

They see each other a few times a year (is the plan, so far they've met once but she's still tiny haha) and we'll always be open about his role in her life: whenever she gets curious she'll be able to ask him anything at any time! But he won't play a role as a caregiver or carry any responsibility for her, no :) I suppose that would be co-parenting?

Awesome! No, I am pregnant and the bio dad is sortve just a hookup and someone I don't want to be a parent of my child. I thought it was interesting that the one person who commented here on your post asked you if your child will know the bio father. I read about this village of women in China who are pretty much all single moms" (like most primates and mammals) they have sex with who they want, monogamy and marriage aren't a thing and the women and children are always provided for and motherhood is honorable. It is a matrilineal society, the men have roles too but parenthood is not one
