Someone please pinch me...

I don’t even think I could claim it’s a squinter!

CD28/13 DPO! Weird but I feel equal parts ecstatic, overwhelmed and terrified!

Congratulations @Sparrow91 - I remember those feelings well from DC1!

AF due 02/01 for me so too early to test, going to get stuck into Christmas bubbles on the off chance I get a BFP (only cycle 1 so I doubt it'll have worked!)

Sparrow91 · 24/12/2020 21:43

Ah I’m so thankful it’s not a unique thing!

Have everything crossed for you - weirdly this was the one month I let myself relax and have a few bevvies.. so hoping the same rubs off for you WineFlowers

Have you been on the pill?

Implant removed in Sept but have been using condoms since then. Took a year to get pregnant with DC1 so no expectation of it happening this month!

FirstTimeTryer93 · 24/12/2020 21:58

I am 10dpo tomorrow. Testing with a frer so will let you know. Everything crossed. Congratulations on your BFP!! X

Sparrow91 · 25/12/2020 09:57

@larrythelizard ahh hopefully it doesn’t take too long for you :)

@FirstTimeTryer93 thank you! So anxious now so think I’ll do a few more over the coming days to check the progression. how did you get on?! Wishing you lots of baby dust x

@Sparrow91 BFN for me. That's probably me out this month. Due AF on the 29th. Just got to try again next month 😔 x

@FirstTimeTryer93 but if you’re only 10dpo surely it’s too early for a test to detect anything? I thought you had to wait till you have a missed period before you could take a test

Noornie · 25/12/2020 22:22

Had this shadow of a line yesterday, confirmed with a digital today. I’m only 9dpo today so am really surprised the digital picked it up so early. DH and I have both cried - this will hopefully be our second baby but third pregnancy. We lost a baby at almost 12 weeks back in May, he would’ve been due earlier this month, and have been trying since. Think I’ll be due about the 8th September.

@Noornie so sorry for your loss, but congratulations on your BFP. I have everything crossed for you Flowers

@FirstTimeTryer93 like kitty says it might be worth testing again in a couple of days? I know I was showing negative at 10dpo x

Noornie · 26/12/2020 07:50

Thanks @Sparrow91 ❤️

I’m already worried about line progression, I’m only 10dpo so I know I’m being silly but they’ve not really progressed yet. I’ve ran out of tests now though and new ones don’t come until sometime tomorrow (Amazon) so it’ll probably do me good not to be able to test every wee as I was doing! I think the loss before has just made me super anxious.

Sparrow91 · 26/12/2020 08:09

@Noornie I’m the absolute same, I’m POAS 2x a day but it hasn’t got darker as yet. I was literally crying my eyes out to DP last night terrified something is going to go wrong. I feel like I can’t relax or ‘accept’ I’m pregnant yet. I know I’m probably just overreacting but just feel like it’s too good to be true :(

I can totally understand why you’d be anxious too. Flowers Are you able to get an early scan in a few weeks to put your mind at rest? Is it a bulk pack of tests? I use the Femometer ones :)

OP posts:
Noornie · 26/12/2020 08:25

@Sparrow91 it’s just so hard not to worry isn’t it! I’ve been using the one step ones, I used a random digital one I had yesterday but have more one steps and a double pack of frers coming tomorrow as I’ve always felt like I need to confirm with a frer for some reason Confused

I feel exactly the same as you though, DH is telling me not to worry this morning and it’s so early still it’ll be a while until ‘strong’ lines but I just want to see that super strong dye stealer haha.

I think I’ll definitely go for a couple early scans for peace of mind - I’m luckily on leave from work for 2 weeks now which is handy but not sure what I’m going to do once I’m back. My job involves going in and out of peoples homes all day and having fairly long chats with people once inside. Obviously I wear masks etc but the people I see often don’t. In my pregnancy back in May it was agreed all pregnant women were to stop home visits immediately and work only from home but not sure what their stance is on it this time, and again being so anxious it just makes me worry. Hoping this isn’t 9 months of worrying ahead for me haha!

Are you going to tell any friends/family or will you wait?

Sparrow91 · 26/12/2020 11:36

@Noornie that’s a good idea actually! I might see if I can get a couple of frer’s myself.

Aw bless you, your DH seems lovely :) I can’t wait to get us a couple of dye stealers haha, maybe then we’ll relax (just a bit!)

Yeah I will be doing the same - I’m already eyeing a slot in 3 weeks when I get to 7 weeks. I just want to hear a heartbeat and make sure everything is okay. Hilariously we’re also going to be getting a puppy in 2 weeks so I’ll have my hands full!

Wow that’s such a dilemma, tbh I’d say even if the stance has changed I would fight to work from home given how anxious you (understandably) are and the state of the country atm. Is there any guidance on any gov website or professional body?

I’m super lucky I’m working from home for the foreseeable - I’m able to go into the office if I want to but I’m going to have a look now at whether it’s appropriate for me to be doing so. Also no idea whether I’ll get morning sickness etc?

In terms of telling anyone, we actually had our hands forced - as I found out on Christmas Eve, I literally found out about an hour before we had plans to spend with DP’s mum and dad in their garden, with copious amounts of drink planned! So we FaceTimed my Dparents, showed them the digi and then told the PIL once we were there.. there was no way they would have allowed me not to drink otherwise! Luckily they were all super supportive and happy and we’ve sworn them to secrecy for the next 8 weeks! How about you? X

Tested again today, BFN. Will just test when I'm due AF on the 29th. If I can wait till then 😂 congratulations on your BFP @Noornie x

Noornie · 26/12/2020 20:15

@Sparrow91 thanks - he is a good egg bless him!

Oh gosh at least it’s a puppy now though and not the same time as the baby will be arriving! Haha.

I spoke with the ‘pregnant then screwed’ team last time about my rights as work as they were great so may well have to call them again for advice.

Morning sickness is such a funny one isn’t it! My first pregnancy I had zero symptoms - honestly the most easy pregnancy physically for me. I remember wishing I felt sick as I was worried something was wrong! Then with my miscarriage I was nauseous a lot, I never threw up but always felt on the edge of it. So I’ve no idea what to expect this time as I’ve had a pregnancy with and without!

Haha we were in a similar position actually and told my family yesterday too! Similar situation in that if I hadn’t had a drink there would be questions asked, and my family know we wanted another. We haven’t told my partners family yet as we’re fairly low contact with them so will wait a while to tell them. It was lovely to share the news Christmas Day though, my poor Mum cried bless her!

Sparrow91 · 27/12/2020 07:53

@FirstTimeTryer93 I have everything crossed for you 🤞🏻 thankfully the 29th isn’t too far away now!

@Noornie absolutely, DP says he is now seeing puppy arriving as a crash course for the baby! Survival of sleepless nights etc 😂

That team sounds awesome, I’d definitely talk with them even just to put your mind at rest. I’m sure they will understand why things are very sensitive and anxious for you right now.

Ahh that first pregnancy sounds bliss though! I do wonder what we’ll both get, although I’m going for an easy pregnancy I’m the same in that if I don’t feel like I’m suffering a bit I’ll be worried whether I’m even pregnant! So far the only symptoms I’ve got is this really sharp pain on my right side around my hip bone, and a lot of bloating and gas Grin
Did you have the nausea from the very beginning with the 2nd pregnancy?

Haha how funny we’re in the same position! I guess it’s that time of year where drinking is almost expected though! How lovely your Mum cried! What a Christmas present 🎁

OP posts:
Noornie · 27/12/2020 08:44

@Sparrow91 I had nausea from about 5 weeks with the second pregnancy I think. I’ve no symptoms yet with this one but think I’ve woken up with tonsillitis Sad raging temp of 39.9, sore throat and feel absolutely rubbish so feeling a bit anxious as I know a really high fever can be dangerous to a developing pregnancy so I’m currently laid in a lukewarm bath having taken some paracetamol and hoping it’ll come down soon!

Oh yeah people definitely know something is up if you’re not drinking around Christmas 🎄

VNttc · 27/12/2020 13:57

Not quite Christmas but got this with FMU today! 11 dpo so hoping it sticks! Never had a positive result at all before so I'm super nervous.
