It’s that time again, the 6th post-pill thread of ladies who are experiencing the highs and lows (mainly the lows…) of coming off the pill and TTC! Here you’ll find stories of delayed ovulation, crazy long follicular phases, crazy short follicular phases, light AFs, short luteal phases, long luteal phases, confusing temp charts and blindingly white OPKs, to name a few.

Join us, won’t you? We're a lovely bunch and we'd love to help you make sense of post-pill life if we can!

@Juno231 ah ok that makes total sense thanks for explaining.

abi555 · 30/12/2020 22:23

Thanks @Flowers222 and @Juno231 - really useful to know! That's a lovely chart @Flowers222! I had heard about the facebook group but not joined as yet, so will check that out now - thanks

Kay00 · 30/12/2020 22:40

@flowers222 so good yo hear you caught your peak, hopefully you catch again this cycle x

@juno231 interesting that your opk of 28% is considered a high and is the start of your FW. I have had a few opks at about 30% but I think that's about my base level so no high or peak for me yet.

My cervix is starting to go soft and my cm is more wet today so hopefully my fertile week(s) is starting too 🤞 chart just because.

MancMama39 · 30/12/2020 22:46

Hope today has gone as well as can be expected @AMS19, thinking of you X

So sorry about your Nan @crabette.

Sending hugs to all, been another tough day hasn't it? Anxiety levels at an all time high with going into tier 4.

Kay00 · 30/12/2020 22:58

@mancmama39 hugs x it must be very difficult going into tier 4 😔 stay safe xx

I'm in Devon and heading into tier 3, I was lucky enough to go out for a meal with my OH today and to the pub for mulled wine with friends yesterday. But sounds like I'll be staying at home for take out during January at least...

Moocher90 · 30/12/2020 23:45

@Kay00 I’ve been in tier 4 for what feels like forever 😂😂 London and Essex

Kay00 · 31/12/2020 01:25

Oh no 😢 sorry!! 😆😆😆

TheDaydreamBelievers · 31/12/2020 01:33

Jealous of you @Kay00! We are Glasgow and havent been able to go for dinners etc since about Sept. Getting very bored of long walks!

minipilling · 31/12/2020 07:37

Thanks guys. Trying not to let anxiety take over. The news is scary but I don't want to miss out on having a child if I can. It's taken so long because of my ill health due to endo, I was not in a position to try before, and have had two surgeries, so it's sort of crunch time!

Interesting to read all the temping chat! I won't be temping so far but will be using ovulation dipsticks after I stop bleeding!

ChinChilly · 31/12/2020 09:17

Morning ladies! Just trying to catch up had a manic day yesterday fielding phone calls and arranging car pick ups and drop offs! The most ironic thing ever, a red mini hit my car on Monday so yesterday my curtosy car turned up...a red mini 😂😂😂 no where near the size of my car but it’s pretty much all they had!

@AMS19 hope everything went aswell as possible! Thinking of you ❤️

@crabette so sorry to hear about your grandmother 😞

9DPO today not a great deal going on, I’ve been abit crampy since last night and my RHR has been sat at 72 for 3-4 days but it dropped today to 71 so not holding out much hope!

Sperr · 31/12/2020 10:22

@Flowers222 oooh I have been looking into getting one of these!

Today I was using my last clear blue opk and of course it goes wrong and says to retest! I’m now holding just to do a cheapie just for completeness 😂. I need to come up with a plan for next month. I’m either just going to have to keep DTD every day until something happens or get ovusense!

I got an Apple Watch for Christmas and my RHR is really low! Are they more sensitive than fitbits - I had had my Fitbit for a few years!

Moocher90 · 31/12/2020 10:25

@ChinChilly glad you got yourself sorted, new courtesy car etc it’s probably very stressful!

So I think I might be 3/4dpo however not confirmed on FF yet due to my temps. I’ve had a bit of pink spotting today, just when I wiped. Cervix is high too. Will see what the next few days bring

KGH5121 · 31/12/2020 14:22

@Moocher90 so after reading your difference in temp readings, decided I'd try it this morning - it was almost a 0.2 difference but I think Google says that's quite normal. But I had evidence 🤤 that I was sleeping with my mouth open last night haha!

@Sperr if you can get hold of some cheapie ones, I'd say keep giving it a go. Have you been off the pill long? I don't think I ovulated the first couple of cycles off.

@minipilling I'm totally with you about the worry. We were going to start TTC in February but my DH was concerned and said to wait a month or 2 until it settles down haha! Things were looking up with the vaccine so we decided to start and now it's looking a bit crazy again 😯

@Katelyn99 I got EWCM about 6 days after ovulation and a dip in temp. Kay00 mentioned it could be due to a secondary estrogen surge.

@ChinChilly glad you're managing to sort some car stuff out. It's such a pain! Is RHR a useful indicator? We're close with days, I'm 10dpo today 🙂

abi555 · 31/12/2020 15:20

Very exciting day for me! AF has arrived for the first time since coming off the pill! Woooooooop! Very happy to see my body finally working again :) Took 2.5 months in the end, so I suppose I am luckier than many of you with longer waits.
I am absolutely certain this is the last time I will be happy to see AF however, as from next month will be back to dreading her return hah!
Fingers crossed for all you ladies waiting for your first as well that it comes quickly

MissC07 · 31/12/2020 16:14

@abi555 amazing news!! I've actually had some cramps and pink/brown spotting today at CD41, thought it was AF but it seems to have stopped now. I was so excited my body might be finally doing something post pill, but maybe not!!

Happy NYE all 🍾

abi555 · 31/12/2020 16:22

Thanks @MissC07
I had a similar experience 2 weeks ago - very light bleed for a couple of hours and then nothing. Also got very excited at the time. I think in hindsight it may have been ovulation bleeding. Fingers crossed it is the same for you!

Happy NYE all, and hopefully a better year for everyone in 2021 with lots of baby dust all around!

Moocher90 · 31/12/2020 16:31

@abi555 and @MissC07 from coming off contraception at end of august it took 6 weeks for a withdrawal bleed then another 6 weeks for a period xx I thought I was being impatient as I had been on contraception for 15 years. My cycles are still not text book yet and I don’t think I ovulated at all during the first 3 months x it’s takes 100 days to make a good quality egg! If you haven’t been ovulating because of contraception

Juno231 · 31/12/2020 16:38

Happy new year girls! We've got 3 months to score a 2021 baby, no pressure 🤣. Kidding aside, I hope none of us have to stay on this thread for much longer ❤️.

@Moocher90 hello Londoner!

@Kay00 I think 28% counts as high only because it's the femometer app and femometer strips - they tend to barely show anything unless there's really something there if that makes sense lol. Eg compared to the purple ones (I never remember the brand name!), where lots of ladies seem to have relatively strong lines on there throughout the cycle anyway.

Did I mention I looked up the fertility doctor I'm seeing in Feb and she's the founder and Head fertility specialist of the fertility clinic near work. It's the one I've been considering for fertility help down the line if I end up going down the private route!

@Juno231 that’s great news about the fertility doctor u will be seeing! Hopefully though u fall naturally though fingers cross like the rest of us on this thread xx

Happy New Year one and all!! I really hope it’s a positive year for us all and we get some BFPs on this thread xx

ChinChilly · 31/12/2020 16:57

@Moocher90 it’s been a nightmare, and I hate the car they’ve given me...tbh driving is quite painful so I don’t think I’ll be using it much!

@KGH5121 ooo we are close in dates! RHR normlly drops a couple of days before AF arrives!

@Juno231 scary we’ve only got 3 months to score a 2021 baby! Great news about your doctor though!

Well for some bizarre reason i POAS earlier 9dpo so was obviously stark white 😂

ChinChilly · 31/12/2020 16:58

Happy new year all, hope the next one is better 🥂🎉

Moocher90 · 31/12/2020 16:59

@ChinChilly you are not out until AF arrives xx it is really scary to think in 3 months time it won’t be a 2021 baby 😂😂 if feels like a lifetime away

Kay00 · 31/12/2020 17:06

@juno231 Bingo! What good luck! Hopefully shes ace at what she does and can work out what you can tweek to get your BFP!!

Interesting about the strips. My opk today was just 14% so either nothing is happening yet or I missed it 🤦‍♀️ We are DTD every other day so it doesn't matter too much either way.

New Years Resolutions:

  1. stop eating cake and go on a diet
  2. start running again (but maybe when the weather is a couple of degrees warmer)
  3. get pregnant!!

😆 have a good one ladies! 🍾🥂

ChinChilly · 31/12/2020 17:07

@Moocher90 I’m not sure what I expected as it wasn’t even FMU 😂 I know it really does seem like a lifetime away! When I came off the pill in June I honestly thought I’d be pregnant by now

Moocher90 · 31/12/2020 17:11

@ChinChilly you are not the only one!! I think we all really underestimate the toll hormonal birth control has on our bodies and how long it takes to regulate itself again xx

The amount of vitamins I take I should be rattling by now 😂😂
