Not conceiving why?

Asking for a close friend, I'm too old to have one.
If you and your husband are in your late 30's, had all the tests, nothing wrong with your eggs or his sperm, failure to conceive naturally or after several rounds of IVF why?
They've had every test under the sun and nothing is wrong with either of them.
Any ideas? The situation is getting fraught now.

Sometimes it just isn’t meant to be

There are lots of factors that could be at play - what are their BMI? Obesity is well known to reduce fertility? What about their general lifestyle? When you say they've had "all the tests" does that include PGS genetic testing of embryos during IVF or NK cells?

And how old is "late 30s"?

As @ivfbeenbusy said, there are literally hundreds of reasons, much to my dismay when I was in a similar position and trying to prioritise more in-depth tests (beyond the usual "are the sperm and eggs good quality" ones).

I ended up taking prednisone (steroid that suppresses an inappropriate autoimmune response) and inhixa (anticoags) as well as the normal IVF hormones on our fourth round, and it worked. But we'll never know if the planets finally aligned or if the additional drugs helped.

You probably didn't mean to be unkind, @Sway19, but comments like "sometimes it's just not meant to be" are incredibly unhelpful and frustrating for some people who are struggling to conceive.
