Possible chemical or not?

Hello I had my period 2 weeks ago and afterwards got a positive on a test so was quite confused. Especially after an ectopic in October. I went for blood tests yesterday and they said my hcg levels are 22 so it is very low and possible chemical (horrible woman on the phone) she wants me to go back on Thursday to see if they're going down. I'm still getting positive test results and still feel pregnant. Is there any chance this could still be viable?

What pregnancy tests are you using? If they are frer they can pick up 6 hcg level.

I recognise your name from having an ectopic round the same time as me and saw you got a positive recently so I’m sorry if it is a chemical, but another blood test is the only way to know for sure. Fingers crossed for you!

Out of interest what made you do the test after a period? Is it because of the precious ectopic?

Hey @Chica1990 I'm actually using the clear blue digital now which is saying 1-2 weeks and I've been feeling all pregnancy symptoms. After my period I just felt pregnant, its hard to explain, so I tested and got a faint result, and now clear blue is saying 1-2 weeks. Early pregnancy unit took my bloods and have told me it's likely to be a chemical, but my tests are still positive, I personally think maybe I'm too early to tell but maybe time will tell. The woman was awful to me on the phone too which didn't help

Bloods will be the only way to tell at this point unfortunately, did you get bloods last time?

I think it will be good if they do double to still get an early scan to rule out another ectopic for peace of mind.

Unfortunately I find a lot of people at the NHS are short/rude over the phone...

@Halli2020 were you able to get to the bottom of things at all?

mich20208 · 28/12/2020 19:15

What was the outcome of this. I'm still getting faint positives on cheapies after my period which wasn't really a period. Got some frer coming tomorrow so I can know for sure x

Halli2020 · 28/12/2020 19:54

@mich20208 and @Chica1990 I was actually pregnant, I had my hcg levels done which was low and slow rising, I miscarried yesterday and last night. Having hcg levels done again tomorrow to see if they're returning to normal. X

Sorry to hear it @Halli2020 especially after what you’ve been through in the past couple of months. Hope you’re doing ok and take care of yourself. I’m wishing us luck for next year.

@mich20208 and @Chica1990 thank you for your comments. I'm not going to give up though. Will be having a few drinks on new year's eve and trying again next year. Best of luck to both of you, keep an eye out for my future posts of when I do conceive again 😊
