Positive test after miscarriage last cycle? Pre mom tests

Hi everyone,

I sadly had a miscarriage at 5 weeks on my last cycle. My next period should be due on Wednesday. Today is day 26 after the bleeding and my cycles are usually 27 days.

I had some cramps yesterday and hadn't been sleeping which was similar to last months BFP. So to rule it out in my head I decided to test this morning. I've never used these tests before! I bought them because I had to have a negative test to report back to the EPU (which I got on Friday 18th).

Does anyone have experience with these tests? The line was clear after 3 minutes.

Did you wait until you had a clear negative until TTC again? If so, this may be a new pregnancy. If not, hard to tell to be honest!

@TheDaydreamBelievers thanks for your reply! I did have a negative test on Friday 18th. The EPU asked me to test three weeks after the bleeding to confirm it was completely gone.

I've had cramps the last two days, that's the only reason for the testing!

I've never used these tests but I had a early pregnancy loss and then fell pregnant straight after with no period in between. He's 3 now, hoping all works out for you.

@wavecatcher thank you so much for your reply. That's so reassuring to know! I was a little worried I hadn't had a period in between but from what I've read it seems safe.

The doc told me it was safe after my first miscarriage - the only reason they ask you to wait one cycle is to help you date the second pregnancy , obviously it can be quite stressful if you don't know when you ovulated and the scans measure different dates etc... good luck , we were lucky enough to conceive first cycle after a miscarriage and he's not the most gorgeous 11 month old xxxx
