Total pregnancy confusion - please help!

Hi everyone,

I was hoping someone could help with some advice or tips of what to do next as I am completely confused.

So I got my “period” at its expected time this month, but it was lighter than normal and there was lots of (sorry, little bit graphic) old blood and brown discharge. The period went on much longer than normal - for around 2 weeks. I thought nothing of it until my mother mentioned that she bled right through on all her pregnancies, and so I thought I’d take a pregnancy test to rule it out.

I think it came out positive (photo attached)- but wasn’t sure, so I waited a few days and took another one. That one was definitively negative. I’m now completely confused and can’t stop obsessing about it as I don’t want to talk to anyone about it in person until I’m certain about what’s going on.

My boobs are aching and I’m also feeling nauseous occasionally, but I don’t know if that’s just me overthinking things.

Has anyone experienced anything similar?
Do you think I could have had an early MC or a chemical pregnancy?
Or could I still be pregnant?

I’m new around here but it seems like a good place to come for advice, so any tips or guidance would be gratefully received!

Thank you and sorry for the longwinded explanation!

It sounds like it could have been a chemical. I'd wait a week and then test again to be sure.
I'm sorry Thanks

@Mrsmummy90 I think so too, just taken another test this morning which was also definitely negative. I’m gutted even though we weren’t even planning it.

It does sound like a chemical, so sorry.
