I ovulate on day 9 of a 28 day cycle. When should I be able to get a valid result from a test? Thanks

If you ovulate on CD9 you can test from CD19 onwards, although CD21 you give you the most reliable result.

Thankyou! Would it matter that it'll still be 7 days until my due period do you think? Don't want to jump the gun

Periods are always due relative to ovulation. The average luteal phase (time between ovulation and your period) is 12-14 days long. So if you ovulated on CD9 you period is likely due CD21-23. So you would have a shorter cycle than usual.

You might want to speak to your GP as that's considered early ovulation, and there might be hormonal issues or problems with egg quality.

I ovulated on Day 9 last cycle and AF came on Day 23.

I normally ovulate on Day 11 and AF on Day 25/26.

I think that’s too early and have had several mc so having checks done at the moment.

Thanks for all your replies.
@Highfalutinlootin yeah I have considered it but I already have two small boys aged 3 and 1 and ovulate around the same time with them so not overly concerned and we would like a third but if it doesn't happen we are happy with what we have Smile. X

@Welshy11 hi Welshy .
I also ovulate around day 9/10 of cycle ... never deemed it to be an issue but TTC for first and after reading forums on here I am now worried I Ovulate to early. Have you always Ovulated around 9 days ? X

Winelover13 · 30/12/2020 18:43

Just re read your message and you have always usually O around that time frame ? Also in response to your post ... they say 12 DPO is a good time to test ? Fingers crossed for you

@Winelover13 I'm not entirely sure if I am honest. I started doing OPK when I was trying for my first after 6 months of nothing. Then the month I actually tracked ovulation to a positive on cd9 I fell pregnant. With my 2nd, it happened the first night we tried so no issues there!
I just assumed I was the same as everyone else but the opk proved I ovulate earlier so changed the days we dtd!

@Welshy11 that’s reassuring! Thank you :)
