Hi,

Please can people tell me that they got pregnant whilst being depressed?

Yes I did.

I think it would only affect it if the depression was stopping periods (I think it can affect your cycle). If you're suffering from depression, are you getting support for it? Caring for a baby whilst being depressed is no easy task. Hope you start to feel better soon Thanks

And things were far far better when I gave birth. I know that goes against the typical script but don't lose hope OP.

Hi @worriedandabitscared
I had a loss in May. I wasn't depressed until then infact being sad like this is a new to me, i have had counselling, but i have anxiety about mental health stopping it happening, just because people say rwlax6and it'll happen, funnily enough that makes me more anxious which then makes me feel more depressed.
@FestiveStrop thanks can you tell me how your depression affected you.... Its new to me to feel like this so it just feels like it will affect things, its not affecting my cycles or ovulation my cycles have been 1 day shorter since loss, and this is my 4th month ttc

@Sef89 I'm so sorry you're feeling like this. I had a loss in August - it is so hard.

It drives me mad when people say "just relax and it will happen". All I know is that I do IVF and there are few things that are more stressful and yet women still get pregnant doing it. The IVF cycle I got pregnant with my daughter, I was literally out of my mind with anxiety and worry. I realise stress isn't quite the same as depression, but women get pregnant in the most stressful of circumstances all the time.

So don't worry about the worry! Women can beat themselves up because they feel anxious and have heard it is better to be relaxed. Don't worry about the worry.

I hope you feel better soon and that you get your rainbow baby soon too xxx

Hello OP.

My depression wasn't centred around TTC, I'm not sure what exactly triggered it but it was happening a good year before I even thought of having DC.

It was just general negativity, apathy, couldn't maintain a positive thought, withdrew from friends and family, developed social anxiety and depended only on my partner. He took the brunt of it. It really doesn't stop you conceiving, promise and it doesn't last forever x
