Ovulating with HCG in system

Hoping someone can help me figure this out.

I had a medical management of my miscarriage 2 weeks ago on 4 Dec. I've had a scan that shows everything has passed and the bleeding has pretty much stopped.

The midwife suggested waiting until after a normal period before ttc again which was the plan, but last night we ended up having sex. I'm wondering if it's possible I could have ovulated again already and if so if there are any risks with not having waited to have a normal period?

I did one of those pregnancy tests that checks if your hcg is above 25 and it came back positive, not sure if it is even possible to ovulate if hcg is above this level?

Thanks in advance.

No one can tell you for sure. But usually you don't ovulate until about two weeks after HCG goes to zero.

If you did happen to ovulate there are no physical risks. but it is generally a good idea to give yourself at least a little time to grieve the miscarriage before you focus on getting pregnant again.

Thanks @Respectabitch that's helpful to know.

Yeah, it's a funny time, torn between grieving and recovering while wanting to be pregnant again. I had wanted to wait until I had at least one cycle so I could be sure of my dates as that was one of the things that caused heartache with the miscarriage.
