BFP after MMC

Got a BFP on Wednesday after a MMC identified at my 12 week scan in April. Nasty shock and quite traumatic. Am I being ridiculous to be totally paranoid about this pregnancy? I don’t ‘feel’ pregnant...which is silly as there’s clearly lines there. I’m worried the same thing will happen again. Any advice much appreciated.

Congratulations OP! No you're not being ridiculous you're feelings are totally valid. I've had 2 MCs this year the last being a MMC too and I know for sure I would be feeling exactly the same as you, just try to take it one day at a time. Wishing you a healthy pregnancy.

Thank you so much for replying @bez91. Sorry to hear about your MCs, they’re so difficult aren’t they.

Hi @JhsLs I'm so sorry for your loss. I had a loss at 9 weeks back in August and it is hard.

That looks like a clear strong BFP. I think it is normal to be anxious after miscarriage or infertility. My first (successful) pregnancy after IVF I was literally out of my mind with worry for the first 12 weeks and beyond. I honestly don't know how I got through it.

Statistically it is unlikely you will have another miscarriage but I know stats don't help me when I'm feeling anxious.

There is a thread in Pregnancy called something like pregnancy after miscarriage. The women on there should be in a similar position so may be worth joining.

Crossing everything for you to have a healthy pregnancy this time

Xxx

Thank you, @Janefx40. Sorry to hear about your loss too but excellent that you went on to have a successful pregnancy. It makes me feel hopeful. Thanks for the tip - I’ll look for that post.

Just had a MMC a few weeks ago and hopefully will TTC soon.
So so sorry to hear about your loss, nothing can prepare you!
Wishing you a happy and healthy pregnancy this time around 😊
Do you mind if I ask how long it took after your MMC to ovulate?

@purplepoppet92 I'm sorry for your loss. It is such a sad thing to experience.

I had some signs of ovulation 12 days after surgical management (CM) but it was a weird cycle and I didn't test. I had a very super light spotting bleed about 8 days later so it wasn't a proper luteal phase/lining. I had a positive OPK 34 days post surgical management or 14 days after that super light spotting.

@purplepoppet92 so sorry to hear about your MMC. Literally nothing prepares you for the news. I ovulated soon after my medical management but I believe it’s taken me some months to get my body back to normal. My cycles have varied between 25-31 days and I lost a lot of my normal symptoms like sore boobs which indicated I was ovulating. However, OPKs always said I had a surge every month. One month we had intercourse 14 times in one month yet the month I conceived again, I didn’t use OPKs and we did it literally twice! And I fell pregnant. So weird isn’t it.

Thank you both for your replies! Its so hard not to get obsessive about it again! Wishing you both all the luck xx
