Chemical?

Hello. Got a bfp this morning, but at 12dpo it's so so so feint. Much feinter than my previous pregnancies were at 9dpo.

Was hoping this one would work out after a miscarriage earlier in the year but I'm not feeling hopeful. Should I assume this might be a chemical?

@treesall I don't think you should worry at all 😊 it's not faint for 12dpo, some people don't even get a line until 13/14dpo. Don't compare your line to previous pregnancies. Each one is different and doesn't mean that you'd have the same line strength on a certain dpo for each pregnancy. Test again tomorrow or the day after and you should see a progression. Good luck 😊

@treesall I also meant to say sorry to hear about your miscarriage, I had one in January 2019 and it's just awful. Still ttc our rainbow baby. X

miami2 · 16/12/2020 14:39

Sorry to hear about ur previous miscarriage. It's understandable why u r probably questioning things but I agree with PP. I would only worry it was a chemical if u were comparing to a darker line the day before for example. Test in a couple of days and fx u see some progression. Just because u had a darker test on a previous pregnancy doesn't mean u will this time. U could have implanted later. And that is a line!! Congrats xxxx

@Tamalama & @miami2 thank you for your kind replies. I have found both my pregnancies to be soooo stressful and unnerving and worrying, and I wasn't expecting to have food news this month, so it's both thrown me and then panicked me all at once.

@Tamalama I'm sorry too to hear about your mc. Will pray for good news for you very soon. The TTc / pregnancy journey is so very hard!

Ok sorry that was all in bold! I'm not sure what I did there!

I'm so gutted but my tests are clearly getting lighter so I guess it's definitely a chemical. I just want my period to hurry up and come now 😭

@treesall when is AF due?
I don't think it's fading personally but it may look different in person.
Keeping everything crossed for you xx

treesall · 18/12/2020 08:24

Thanks @Twinkle1989 but I'm pretty sure they are. It does def look lighter now in person, and the cheapie tests which had a vague shadow 3 days ago are totally negative now. A digital yesterday said negative with the same fmu as the middle frer, and on previous pregnancies the cheapie test has always showed something, no matter how diluted the pee is, from the very first moment I found out. My period should be due today / tomorrow.

I know in my gut this isn't a successful pregnancy but I am so frustrated to be in limbo. After my miscarriage earlier this year and now this m, I feel like I'm broken!

Agree with PP - implantation can be anything from 7-12 days. A test in a couple of days should ease your worry. Wishing you the best!

Busybee93 · 18/12/2020 09:24

I had the same last month. My FRER had a very feint - hardly visible - line at 10DPO. I got a negative with a digital. 14DPO it was stronger on a FRER and got positive on a digital! Unfortunately, I had a very early miscarriage but more to say that digital's pick pregnancy up much later oftentimes!

treesall · 18/12/2020 10:10

Thank you @Busybee93 & @Rumples . I know I just need to be patient and wait for my P but I am really struggling. My previous miscarriage (which played out for many weeks and required two lots of intervention etc so it was a bit drawn out and probably therefore quite fresh in my mind) has just left me totally on edge. I'm so grateful to have this forum to talk about it, otherwise I think I'd go mad!

I am sorry to hear about your mc @Busybee93 . They're so horrible.

Oh god I'm sorry, managed to bold it all again.

@treesall I find the best thing to do during this time is delete Mumsnet for a few days, find a book to read and call friends for a chat. Distraction is key! Wink

Busybee93 · 18/12/2020 11:05

As much as Mumsnet is a comfort I do find when you're obsessing it becomes very stressful. It's full of positive stories that give you hope and also those that are very sad and also quite rare so you never leave feeling any wiser if you see what I mean! Wishing you lots of luck!

treesall · 18/12/2020 12:33

I am sure you're right @Busybee93

Easier said than done though! 😂

As expected, it was a chemical sadly. AF arrived.

@treesall so sorry to hear this :-(

treesall · 20/12/2020 18:37

Thanks @Twinkle1989. I knew from day 1 it was a bit suspicious so I'm not too upset, though obviously very disappointed. Pleased not to be in limbo anymore. Very much hoping for better news next month. In the mean time, I will enjoy some Christmas wine!
