TTC with PCO

Hi all.

I'm new to the forum. My fiancé and I are TTC. I came off the Marvelon pill after over 4 years in September and have been trying ever since with no joy. I spoke to my doctor today who confirmed that I had PCO identified in a scan 11 years ago but a scan 2 years ago didn't show the cysts (likely due to the pill).

I'm really worried that I won't be able to conceive naturally. Also got freaked out today as my period came 2-3 days early compared to the last few months. Please could you let me know if you've conceived with PCO (not PCOS) and if so, how long it took to conceive. TY xxx

Hi! I had PCO before I had my son, but only one of my ovaries was affected. They did say it wasn't too severe although they always spent a long time counting cysts in ultrasounds. My son is now 3 and its just vanished, I've had 3 ultrasounds and each time they've confirmed no cysts.

I'm ttc baby number 2 at the moment, on our second cycle trying - but we conceived first go with our first, so the PCO did not affect it.

After 4 years there could be other things at play, do you track your cycles / use opks or temp chart?

PCO is found in up to 30% or women and is considered a normal physiological variant. It is not a cause of infertility (but can obviously be associated with it in up to 30% or infertile couples as it's a normal variant).

Wow that's really useful to know. I have only been TTC since September so it's just a few months. We used clear blue ovulation test last month and I track my cycle on Flo. Good luck with baby number 2!
