EWCM cycle day 18?!

My cycle varies from 27-29 day cycles. This month I have seen EWCM from day 12, but had most on days 17 and 18. Totally unexpected with how late in my cycle it is? Cervix is still soft. We had sex cycle day 14 as I thought I’d ovulate the next day. Now I’m worried it was too soon?

Could I have ovulated already and still seeing it? Or would you say I’ve not yet ovulated?

The only way to know when you've ovulated is to use OPKs and BBT monitoring. CM is unreliable, I mostly get EWCM before ovulation but do sometimes get it afterwards as well. I've even had it whilst on my period! So there isn't really an answer to your question, ovulation could be close or it may have already happened. I would recommend DTD today just incase.

I would say if you are still having EWCM then you haven’t ovulated yet! I used the clearblue fertility monitor and it gave me 6 fertile days before my two peak days! Which means it was detecting estrogen (the hormone that causes EWCM). I was expecting to ovulate on cd 14 and was so worried the monitor was reading it wrong or something! Turns out I ovulated cd 17 that month! I had sex cd 12,13,15 and the morning of ovulation and I got my BFP! So sometimes your cycle can be longer than other months! You won’t get anymore EWCM once ovulation is over!

Apologies @ButterscotchBabe I just read your comment about getting EWCM after ovulation! I personally haven’t had that but everyone is different! I would also agree with butterscotch babe and say that temping and opks are the only way to pinpoint your exact ovulation day! I found temping very useful! If you want to go one step further than opks try the clear blue advanced digital ovulation sticks! They will give you a static smiley face on your two peak days (basically one of those days is your ovulation day)

@Lola19 that's okay, it can be confusing getting it after ovulation, I guess we never truly know what our bodies are up to! Congratulations on your BFP 😊
