When does your bbt drop

Hi all I unfortunately seem to have a short luteal phase and started my period 10dpo. This cycle I tracked bbt and finally ovulated on cycle day 22. I started my period yesterday but bbt still hasn't stopped. Can I ask when does yours drop for those of you who have had a period whilst tracking bbt. Thank you for any insight you give. Added my chart for reference.

It varies to be honest. Sometimes I have a steady drop ahead of AF, sometimes it drops on the day of AF and cycles like my current one, BBT didn't drop until CD4. Pretty sure it's perfectly normal :)

Btw I can tell you took a lot of your temps in the LP earlier than in the FP, which will skew the results. I reckon if you were to adjust (google bbt adjuster) your CD22 temp it would show your ovulation was actually CD21 - giving you an extra day in the LP.

Hi @Juno231 can I firstly thank you as very often you reply to my many pleas and questions and I find you always provide such useful information so thank you. Everything I had read suggest bbt had to drop before period so glad to know it can be normal. With respect to timing I thought it had to be within the hour but didn't realise the impact of variability. I'll be more consistent this month and will good bbt adjuster. I hope you're right re having that extra day, that would take me to 11 day lp which may not be amazing but I read that's normal.

@pinklilly ah no worries, sorry if I bother you each time 😅. As a reference - 1 hour's difference for me results in a 0.10c shift. So even half an hour can make a 0.05 difference. In the case of CD21/22 I think that could potentially push the CD22 temp above the cover line :)

Happy to help whenever, I weirdly enjoy bbt charts so peruse quite a few of them!

Hi @Juno231 that's such helpful information. In a weird twist of events because my bbt stayed high, breasts still sore and bleeding seems to have disappeared I did this. What do you think is it positive?

@pinklilly that is definitely a line!!! Congratulations! How are you feeling?

Pinklilly · 12/12/2020 11:35

@Juno231 my husband isn't convinced but tbh he doesn't understand pregnancy tests at all. I cried a little and I am just a bit stunned. I'm not sure if it is too faint for 14dpo but then I have nothing to compare to! I think I want to retest perhaps tomorrow or day after. Do you think that's wise?

@Juno231actuallt I've calculated wrong I am 12dpo. So perhaps that's why it's faint? Oh gosh I feel so scared!

@Juno231 that's not faint for an IC, congrats!

Juno231 · 12/12/2020 14:20

It's not faint for an IC! - especially if it's anything other than the easy @home ones pretty much.

Men 🙄.

Stabal · 12/12/2020 14:59

@Juno231 sorry just realised I tagged you not the OP 😂 @Pinklilly

Pinklilly · 12/12/2020 21:02

@Juno231oh really? how wonderful then! It is the fermometer ones, so glad it isn't considered faint. Thanks a lot- i feel i can actually be pleased and excited rather than the ambiguity my husband encouraged. The irony is i started this post hoping for bbt to drop- now i need it to stay up! oh the drama. Thanks again for all the help.
