TTC after Missed MC

Looking for some positive stories or tips. I fell pregnant April this year & discovered on our 12 week scan that our baby had died at 9 weeks. I had some complications with the MVA that they did (this was the only option due to COVID) - they left half of the remains in me and it triggered a further MC at home (they explained when I went back that this was the first time carrying it out - should have known as they had 4 nurses in the room watching taking notes). I have been struggling TTC since - it’s just not happening & I’m worried that maybe there maybe some internal damage or am I being crazy? It’s all I can think about.. help please x

Hi :) I had a MC (same timings as you 9 weeks at 12 week scan) over a year and a half ago and haven't been able to conceive since. Periods are all over the place. It got me down so much and I was convinced that I was going to die and something bad was going to happen. I booked a private fertility scan (it was around £150 I think) and found out I have PCOS. It wasn't the best outcome but it did at least give me some piece of mind. The doctors aren't interested unless it's an emergency at the moment so the private scan was the best thing I could have done for my own mental health and would recommend if it's worrying you that much and are able to do it. I'm sorry to hear about your MC. Best of luck and I hope you start feeling better xx

@eastview Thank you so much for your comment & I’m sorry you have experienced the same thing - the impact on your mental health is something I’ve never experienced before. I’ve been reading Mumsnet comments for so long without creating an account and now I’m so glad I did. It’s really nice to have somebody to relate to. Thank you & wishing you all the best for the future xxxx

I'm so sorry to you both. It took me a year to conceive before I had a missed miscarriage in October at 12 weeks. I'm concerned it may take that time again, or longer. And simalar to you I became extremely anxious about death after my miscarriage it's been awful.
If it helps @eastview I was diagnosed with Pcos before my first pregnancy. I fell without trying (because I was told it wouldn't happen naturally) and had the perfect pregnancy with a beautiful healthy little girl.
My Pcos cleared after having her, but it just seems to not be going to plan this time around. But I have heard so many positive stories of people conceiving with pcos and such positivity about healthy pregnancies after miscarrying, we will get there ladies, our prize is at the end of the rainbow.

Hi @Livrose I had a MMC at 12 weeks when I was 19... I'm now 30, it took a year after to fall pregnant. What you went through sounds awful, I had some sort of internal op but at 19 I didn't ask too many questions. I think paying for a private scan would be beneficial, I've had private and NHS scans and I always go private on top of my NHS care as the quality is better. I am now trying for #3 so there is hope after misscaridges for sure. Good luck xxxx

That is so reassuring to hear, thank you so much. I have just delete flo and have written this year off as I think putting a lot of pressure on (and putting it on my poor Husband too) but if not successful by Feb I will book a private scan. Thank you so much and best of luck with no 3 (l) xxx

@Livrose good for you! I've had 5 miscarriages over the years, i wouldn't have even known I was pregnant with half of them if I wasn't testing early ect. Both times I got pregnant it wasn't planned with ovulation testing ect. Go enjoy your Xmas, I'm a great believer in that babies come when they are ready! Xxx

Ah so sorry to read this @Livrose and all other posters on here. that sounds so traumatic with the MVA :(
Im not really coming on here with any advice, as we had a MMC 2 months ago. But just found reading what you and @eastview said really reassuring. there are times i swear im going insane, and have also like you convinced myself theres something wrong and am going to die.
Never ever anticipated or expected the effect this is having on me mentally - it's awful and feel like im nothing like the person i was 6 months ago.
good luck for your TTC journey - im kinda dreading starting again as i know itll just add to my stress! i like your post @marcella64 - definitely something to be said for that!
x
