Hi all, does anyone else use Premom and just received a dodgy notification which looks like it might be a virus? This is the first time I've had any notification from Premom. Not sure if I trust this app now!

Yes, literally just received the same thing.
I DMd them on Facebook to see what it's about.
Defo don't open it though

Dearmaria · 08/12/2020 11:35

I had this too! I clicked it by accident and closed it immediately so I'm hoping nothing too dodgy is going to happen 😬

Kitekat81 · 08/12/2020 11:46

Lol I've never received a notification from them before, so of course my first thought was that I was getting a notification to tell me that I'm pregnant 😂😂😂

I got it too, now I want to delete the app...

AKcheer · 08/12/2020 13:35

Same I got this too!! Anyone had any updates

reservoircats · 08/12/2020 13:36

I've just got another one now.

Unicornsparklez · 08/12/2020 13:46

I have had the same today. One this morning saying $980 had been deposited in my account and now another asking me to claim $500 gift card. I did an internet search and saw some news reports from summer saying they had been breaching privacy giving users personal data to China. I'm very wary to continue using the app and may stick to Kindara which I actually prefer much more to premom anyway

Kitekat81 · 08/12/2020 13:49

I've just had another one as well. This is not good. I've got 8 months of data in premom, I have no backup 😣

Ive had two notifications too, from Chase Bank. First saying they are giving me $980 and a second one saying they are giving me a $500 coupon... I wish! I deleted the notification but now I want to delete the app too!

CookieMonster3001 · 08/12/2020 13:54

@Unicornsparklez defo deleting the app now!!

Chocoqueen · 08/12/2020 13:56

Glad it's not just me, I just dismissed the notifications and hoped for the best.

Unicornsparklez · 08/12/2020 13:58

The news reports were saying that they have sold the private fertility data of its users to three Chinese companies for advertising purposes. They say on their privacy policy that they do not share any personal data without users permission but I will be contacting [email protected] and asking them to erase all my personal data and be warning people on the App Store. I don't have a good feeling about it especially receiving phishing/scam notifications

Tabbycat92 · 08/12/2020 14:02

I logged out and back in and then received the same messages.
So I have deleted and reinstalled the app, and all seems good so far.

Unicornsparklez · 08/12/2020 14:07

I have lost all trust. I've emailed them asking for immediate termination of my account and in line with GDPR regulations asked to invoke my right to be forgotten by having them delete all the personal data they have for me. It's very concerning when we use the app to share such personal fertility formation. Fortunately I have another app I use daily so I do still have a record of my information elsewhere so I can understand it being frustrating if it's the only app you use to track cycles

Rachel93x · 08/12/2020 14:28

2nd one today!

Can anyone recommend a good app to switch to? I use the Easy@home opks so just downloaded the premom app when I started ttc, it does everything I need so I never looked at any others. I really can't be bothered transferring all my data to a new one, but I'm not sure I can trust premom now.

I use Kindara because I track my BBT as long side the clear blue digital ovulation kits. I like it because you can share your chart on their community page and get advice, whether it be on your temp shifts, how many dpo you are, if you BD on the best days etc there are some really lovely people on there. I've used so many, ovia, clue, premom, fertilityfriend and Kindara has been my favourite.

Kitekat81 · 08/12/2020 22:19

Thanks @Unicornsparklez, I think I might just download a few and play around with them over the next month.
