Maca root

Does anyone have any positive experience with using Maca Root? I'm currently on cycle 19 of TTC #1, it's emotionally exhausting. We have had tests which showed nothing overly out of the ordinary for myself - possible high prolactin levels but a further test led to the doctor saying it was okay. My OH had a sample analysis which shows borderline low morphology at 4%. We had been taking vitamin D, vitamin C, vitamin B and folic acid however this cycle we added Maca root and CoQ10 supplements. My cycles can be anywhere from 28-32 days however the last few cycles I've had a static smiley on CD16/17 as well as a temp dip with some pain then a shift into higher temps so pretty certain I was ovulating. The issue I had was that I would then start spotting mid luteal phase with terrible Pms symptoms and my LP was only usually 10/11 days. I felt from the symptoms I wasn't maintaining progesterone and we were also trying to improve OH's Morphology so having read that maca and CoQ10 were good for both male and female fertility at this point quite frankly we will try ANYTHING so we started them beginning of this cycle.

I'm currently CD19. I had a temp dip CD16 and again today. I've had flashing faces for over a week now but no static face. My cervix has been high and soft for many days too I can barely reach it but I don't seem to have ovulated yet. Has anyone taken this and had it mess up their cycle? How long did it take to return to some sort of normality or better yet improve the cycle? I'm worried I've made a bad decision trying it out and not sure if I should just stop it altogether now or trust the process in hope that it will take a couple of cycles for the body to adjust. Any experience would be appreciated. Sorry for the long post! ☺️✨

Maca root is believed to help regulate and balance hormones so it might affect your cycle once whilst your body adjusts. It’s interesting you mentioned both Maca and coq10 because I started taking both of these after trying for a year and conceived! Never gave them to OH though, looks like he didn’t need them in the end anyway.

Best of luck!

Thank you so much that's comforting to hear. It's been a year and half for us so trying anything and everything now. I do want to persist with the maca and coq10 if we can especially if it helps and so hearing that this potentially helped you with your fertility is great! I'm hoping that it just takes time to balance the hormones out of they are a bit out of sorts and so we will just try to DTD every other day until my temps show I may have ovulated or AF comes. I did see online it can take a few months to adjust so perhaps after a couple of cycles it will be much better. Thank you for your comment ☺️
