TTC post nexplanon, irregular cycle- HELP!

Hi there! So i had my nexplanon removed on 22nd September to start TTC, and had a short and light withdrawal bleed a couple of days later. I had intermittent cramping until eventually I finally had a proper period on 30th October, lasting five days. Since then I haven’t had another period, I’m on day 35 of my cycle today. My GP says it will take time for my hormones to regulate, but I’m desperate to start TTC (I already have a 19 month old DD). I was wondering if anyone can suggests any herbal remedies which may help kick start my cycle/ovulation please?
Bit of background, I was on the pill from 2016-2018 and fell pregnant on the pill. I then had my daughter, exclusively breast fed for 8 months and got my nexplanon in when my daughter was six weeks old so it’s been a while since a had proper cycles. My nexplanon was removed after 15 months roughly.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated, I thought I was going to be one of the lucky ones that got pregnant straight away (especially as I got pregnant on the pill before) and before any birth control I was as regular as clock work! Thanks

Hi, I had implant out in August. Like you I had a short withdrawal bleed. It then took about 55 days for me to get a normal period, and my cycle just gone lasted for 32 days. Hoping this one will be the same.

I've no idea if this made any difference, but I started taking 2 tablespoons apple cider vinegar daily. Apparently it is a natural remedy to promote regular cycle. Absolutely no idea if it had anything to do with it but feels good to try something and it has other health benefits too.

Let me know if you come across any other ideas!

@Birchtree4 thanks for your reply! I have ordered some apple cider vinegar to try! I also don’t know whether to try Agnus cactus? I have seen so many different things online, it’s all a bit overwhelming. I’m having cramps but no actual bleed yet, so I don’t know what’s happening with my cycle. If I’d had known the trouble I would have after getting the implant out I never would have gotten it. I put on so much weight on the implant, and just felt generally crap. It’s been like a fog has lifted since I had it removed. Are you TTC also?

Oh just realised your username, I'm Scottish too haha!

Yes I am also TTC.

Totally know what you mean re. Coming off implant. I would have come off sooner if id know it would take a couple of months to even out. If you're having cramps hopefully that means AF on its way and your cycles will start to regulate. I found when I had implant the cramps/sore boobs went on for weekends before I actually bled, not sure if that's common? Glad you're feeling better being off it!

We have also ordered ashgaguanda (sp?) tablets For my partner, apparently good for sperm as well as general wellbeing.
I have heard of Agnus castus but haven't tried it. Is it a tablet? There is so much info out there and you can only do so much of the herbal stuff etc. A cliche but it's having plenty sex that will ultimately make it happen, keep having to remind myself of that!

Thats incredible that you got pg on the pill, must have been quite a shock for you but I bet your dd is so worth it!

I have 2 tablespoons of apple cider vinegar with some orange squash and down it in a oner. Let me know how you get on with it!

@Birchtree4 how are you getting on?

My cycle got to day 70 so I started taking the Agnes cactus and my period came on within a few days! So I’m going to carry on with it I think! I don’t know how you can take ACV- it was absolutely horrific that why I ended up taking Agnus cactus but I’m so glad I did now!

Hey @scottishgirl646! So glad the agnus castus is working for you! I think that now that you've got a period, your cycles will become normal length and regular.

Im actually 6 weeks pregnant! I was at the start of my cycle when we were chatting on this thread, and got my BFP on new years eve. So basically I only had 2 normal periods post implant before getting pregnant - really hope this happens for you too!

I agree the ACV is terrible, I only took it for about 10 days that cycle and gave up so think it had no effect whatsoever haha. X

@Birchtree4 huge congratulations! That’s lovely news! Is this your first?
I’m planning on really tracking my cycle accurately with OPK’s this month and if I get a BFN, then I’m going to stop TTC for a few months so I can get my Covid vaccine. I’m a nurse and not happy to have it whilst either actively TTC or pregnant and so if it doesn’t happen this month I will wait until summer. Now that my period has come I feel totally relaxed about it all so we shall see which way the wind blows and what happens this cycle. Wishing you a healthy happy pregnancy x

@scottishgirl646 that sounds like a very positive healthy approach, will be so useful to get to know your cycles, it could happen this cycle so fingers crossed for you if thats what you're hoping for!

Thank you! Yes this will be our first. Super happy, wasn't quite prepared for the nausea but am assured it will pass haha. Xx

@Birchtree4 just posting a little update, I just got my BFP!! Very very early (period not due until 18th) but did a test today on the off chance as I have the dentist later. I can’t believe it! I hope you are keeping well! Xx
