TTC 9DPO static smiley second LH surge

Hi everyone,

I was hoping I could get some much needed advice!
I had a miscarriage in October of this year and am now trying this cycle.
I have never tracked my cycles before so got a dual hormone CB ovulation kit. I had 5 flashing smileys and then static smiley. I don’t temp chart as only just started tracking ovulation etc.
Anyway had a weird feeling yesterday I might not have actually ovulated as started getting symptoms of ovulation yesterday. I took the the CB test and it was a flashing smiley.
Today (9DPO) I have had another static smiley. The test line was so much darker than the control line and I feel like I am having symptoms of ovulation.
Know your not meant to test post static smiley but had a feeling like I hadn’t ovulated.
Think we are going to Dtd next few days but period is due in 5 days so slightly confused. Could I have had an LH surge and not ovulated the first time? Bit new to all this so just reaching out for advice! Thanks!!

I've had two static smileys in one cycle before. I just made sure I dtd on both tbh!
That cycle it happened, I got Bfp which ended in chemical.

Hi OP! You absolutely can have more than one LH surge in a cycle. The positive OPKs can only indicate that you might ovulate and only temping can confirm that you have. Im my last cycle I had 3 x LH surges before I ovulated.

Im in a odd position now as I had a lot of ovulation symptoms around CD15 and a temp rise from CD16 (but no +OPK) so I assumed I ovulated and now I'm on CD24 and I randomly tested again (as you did) and it came back positive!!

So maybe I'm only just about to ovulate despite getting a previous temp rise 🤔 🙃

Maybe your ovulating now too haha!! Think it’s best we just go for it to check we have covered all surges

Haha, yes I certainly will be jumping on my DH as soon as he finishes work !
