BBT vs CBFM

Hi all, I'm just starting out on my conception journey and purchased the CBFM as I've read good things. I've also been tracking my CM and BBT for around 8 weeks.

Now, my CBFM said that I peaked on CD15 and 16, but my BBT didn't spike until CD18 (EWCM for CD14 to 18).

What I've read regarding BBT suggests that it happens immediately after ovulation, so has my CBFM estimated my peak too early, or have I not quite understood correctly?

Newbie to all of this so any clarification or thoughts are much appreciated!

Is cbfm an opk based thing? If so this all sounds consistent as your LH peak which the opk detects can be a good 48 hours before you actually ovulate or even slightly more. So the opk detected your LH peak and your temp then rose confirming ovulation a couple of days later? This all sounds fine and as expected imo. You need to keep having sex after you've got your opk peak until your bbt temp has shown a clear sustained rise confirming ovulation.

Good luck

LH peaks signify that your body is trying to ovulate - it can take 2-3 days for it to happen though. If your BBT spiked on CD18 (and carried on being high in the subsequent days) then it looks like you ovulated on CD17 - which ties in with your LH peak on CD15.

Oh I see, thanks both! I misunderstood and thought the LH Peak Days were kind of confirmed ovulation days, will keep this in mind for next month, thanks for clarifying 😊
