Hello have been trying for dc2 with no luck

I had a retained placenta for dc1 with a horrible manual removal

it felt so agressive i was sure they were damaging me and now im worried about scarring that might be impacting my fertility for dc2.

Is this a legitimate concern? Anyone with any experience?

@bmachine I also had a retained placenta with DC1 and a manual removal. It feels brutal doesn’t it 😱. I conceived DC2 but it was years later. Sorry I can’t help more but didn’t want to leave your post unanswered. I had no trouble with the placenta with DC2 which was a relief!

Family member had retained placenta (I don't know the details but she nearly died). She went on to conceive twins a year later though she wasn't actively trying to conceive at he time.

I had a retained placenta and manual removal (yes, felt brutal!). I had no trouble conceiving 18 months later.

Hope it happens for you soon.

I've had it twice not trouble conceiving

Thanks all this is very reassuring. Removal was so horrible i remember thinking that they were ruining me!

We will keep trying x

I had retained placenta and went on to conceive

However I was told by consultant that retained placenta can impact fertility going forward

I had trouble conceiving my 1st (3 years and IVF) had a retained placenta and nearly died due to a massive hemorrhage a few hours after birth.
I then went on to have a surprise natural pregnancy when my daughter was 18 months.

It definitely didn't affect my fertility. Good luck X x
