Hi Everyone. Just after some advice please.
I had a miscarriage 4 weeks ago tomorrow at 5+3 weeks. It all happened naturally and was over in 5 days. This was our first pregnancy.
My cycle is normally around 30 days so AF would normally be due on Saturday. But for the last week i have had cramps and backache and im very bloated but no sign of AF at all.
Had anyone else experienced this after a Miscarriage?
Thanks in Advance xx

@Soph01 I’m sorry that you’ve gone through that, Esp on your first. I hope your doing ok.

I had a MC at 5 weeks also and one at 11 weeks. Your period can return between 4-6 weeks afterwards. On my first MC My period return 28 days later, and I had just the most awful symptoms, I don’t normally have. Cramps, stitches, naseau, backache, breast pain and very emotional/angry. I really thought I was PG, but it was just residual hormones which I had for a couple of months. I ovulated fine and periods were normal but I just had tons of unexplained aches and pains. It was a very confusing time, I feel for you. It just made me think that’s going on in my body! But everything was just settling and all was well.

Hope your doing ok.

Im hoping AF will arrive soon so i can try get my cycle back to normal.

leftitlate37 · 26/11/2020 19:16

hey @Soph01 - i could have written your post! firstly so sorry for your mc :( how ru doing?
we had a mc 4 weeks ago yest, also 1st pregnancy. was awful.
im the exact same as u, had really bad cramps last 2 days and backache last 2days but no AF. usually only get cramps once AF has started, never b4, so a bit confused.like u, im thinking hang on, cant be pregnant surely!? its so strange. none of the other symptoms usually have with AF or when got a BFP last time like super sore boobs!
let me know how u get on, with u on this one!

Sorry about everyone losses.

Many years since I had a miscarriage, but what I do remember is it wasn't a normal cycle... I waited longer, period eventually was longer & I felt worse with it... More hormonal probably causing different symptoms.

We'd decided to give ttc a break.

Must have also been delayed for my next cycle as DH and I were apart for over 2 weeks that should have been my fertile time but I suddenly realised it was 7 weeks since last period... Over the counter test before a boozy weekend was negative but felt pregnant...GP surgery confirmed I was 😁... A fabulous surprise that took me a while to believe

Sorry for your loss.. i hope you are doing ok?
I'm ok, good days and bad.
Ive been so bloated all day today that i decided to do a test when i got home unfortunately it was negative... which i think deep down i knew, the not knowing was driving me mad and i wanted to know 100%. So i guess its just a waiting game now. Never wanted AF to arrive so much before..
Hope you get some better news.... x

@soph01 thanks hun....im ok now. Just praying and waiting for new cycle to kick start so i can start ttc as I wanted to wait it out after the mc plus was told by gp aswell to wait for normal period bleed after mc.

Soph01 · 26/11/2020 21:09

@Iloveoreos i am with you on that one. The waiting is so difficult. I was hoping we may have got PG staight away as I've read so many stories of people getting PG before their period as you are meant to be more fertile but then again ive read so much on the Internet that everything seems to contradict itself.
Fingers crossed Af arrives for you soon and you can get back on track 🤞

@soph01.also my thyroid levels were out of the range (which may have caused the mc) and i was strictly told not ttc this month. Its been about 3 weeks since been on new dosage for thyroid..
Hoping all goes well for u hun xx

Soph01 · 28/11/2020 09:24

ah how u doing @Soph01 - least its started now so as u say things can get back to normal soon! still in the same boat here, waiting. cramps stopped yesterday which glad about, and now feeling entirely normal!
it feels weird ot be wanting AF to come round right? hope its no worse than normal for you anyway xx

Lille4 · 29/11/2020 09:57

I had the same thing around mid November. So sorry to hear about your loss. Mine lasted about 5-6 days. Count the last day of your mc bleed as last day of your period. I also use OPKs so that helps me calculate when my cycle goes back to ‘normal’. I had an ovulation peak yesterday at CD15 so I’m able to calculate my next af based on that. My cycles are pretty regular too so this may differ to you. Good luck and hope you get a sticky bean next time. Xx

Iloveoreos · 30/11/2020 15:30

Im still waiting for mine to start so lets see

Chanel05 · 30/11/2020 20:37

Hi ladies sorry i Just come across this due to my current situation. I'm 36. Have 2 kids aged 3 and 5. Would appreciate anyones advice or experience p/s. Had a mc late jan at 11 weeks. Af came back around 4 weeks. I read and thought it would be heavier, longer etc. I had a few cramps, felt a bit tired and cold as I normally do but it wasnt heavy but was lighter than normal and also lasted for 5 days as normal. Is this normal or will i bleed again in a few days? I want to ttc and start testing after my first AF as advised from the EPU. Was my first period normal. Is it safe ttc and will I ovulate? Thank you
