FRER Advice

Hi

This is our first month TTC #1. My cycles are usually 28-30 days and I had my peak on the CB digital on Sat & Sun and I suspect I ovulated on Sat due to the pains I had.

AF should be due next weekend but I have bought an FRER. When is the earliest I should test? I know it says 6 days before missed period but that would be this weekend and only 7/8 days post ov which seems very early.

I’m new to all of this so any advice would be appreciated Smile x

@86lou86 personally I found testing before a period , to only get a negative then get my period absolutely emotionally draining & almost made me give up TTC

I did it so many times in secret - sometimes waiting until the day of AF arriving only to met with disappointment

I'd recommend waiting until AF is actually late
I tested at 3 days late before I got my BFP

But whatever is easiest for you - it's your journey Smile

Some people have had positives at 8dpo on a FRER, but I would say they are the exception and not the rule. I would wait until 10dpo.

However like PP said it can become draining (not to mention expensive). I used to obsessively test before AF on FRERs and they are also quite notorious for indent lines...which at 8dpo can easily be mistaken for a faint positive, which left me frustrated and upset!

Don’t want to rain on your parade though...if you really want to test before AF I recommend buying the cheapie sticks off amazon (they’re about £5 for 30 tests!).

Super exciting, best of luck and lots of baby dust! Xx

Thank you. I’ve also seen a lot of times people get a positive when they have tested early then turns out to be a chemical which just sounds so awful. Such a mine field!

I agree with Kirstenn. I find a BFN a lot more upsetting than just coming on, and if I have a chemical frankly I'd rather not know, so I don't test in advance. Totally up to you though.

The earliest I've had a faint positive on an frer is 10dpo. It was very faint though!

Thank you all I think I’ll just wait and see if AF arrives! Xx

would help if I said the the purple circles are testing days that have come back as high fertility days I am still waiting for the peak fertility day which is meant to be the Lh peak. I am getting two lines on the op tests x

shelbyrae · 24/11/2020 23:08

the earliest I ever got was 6dpo which was crazy but turned out to be a chemical.

with the others I got a positive when AF was due or a bit after.
